Marsabit County recorded the highest growth at 9.3%, largely driven by major investments like the Lake Turkana Wind Power project. It was followed by other high-performing counties including Tana River County (7.6%), Nakuru (6.9%), and Kajiado (6.3%). At the other end, Embu County had the lowest growth at just 0.9%, primarily due to shift in climatic patterns. It was among the bottom five counties, which also included Elgeyo-Marakwet (1.2%), Nyamira (1.9%), Bungoma (2.1%), and Kisii (2.8%). Overall, economic growth was highest in the northern, coastal, and North Rift region, fueled by energy, infrastructure, and tourism, whereas western and central regions experienced slower expansion because of their dependence on climate-based agriculture.
