National Taiwan University is a national comprehensive public research university in Taipei, Taiwan. It has been regarded as the most prestigious university in Taiwan.
National Central University is a public research university with long-standing traditions of the Republic of China based in Taiwan. It was founded in 1902 and renamed in 1915. The school was initially located in Miaoli when it first moved to Taiwan, but relocated to Zhongli in 1962 and developed into a comprehensive university. It's the first university in Taiwan to research industrial economics, and economic development. NCU is a member of AACSB. NCU is one of the six national universities in research selected by the Ministry of Education.
The educational system in Taiwan is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education. The system produces pupils with some of the highest test scores in the world, especially in mathematics and science. Former president Ma Ying-jeou announced in January 2011 that the government would begin the phased implementation of a twelve-year compulsory education program by 2014.
National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) was a public university in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Established in 1896 as Nanyang Public School by an imperial edict of the Guangxu Emperor, it was one of China's leading universities. After the Chinese Civil War, NCTU was re-established by former Chiao Tung University faculty and alumni in Taiwan in 1958.
National Sun Yat-sen University is a public research university located in Sizihwan, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. NSYSU is listed as one of six national research universities, and one of four universities that make up the Taiwan Comprehensive University System, a research-led university alliance in Taiwan. With AACSB and CFA accredited and the number one maritime management program in Asia, the NSYSU College of Management is among the best in East Asia, and the College of Marine Sciences is the oldest and highest ranked in Taiwan.
Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology is a university in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. UCH is also known as Chien Hsin Tech.
The Chiayi–Tainan, Chianan or Jianan Plain, is an alluvial plain located at the central-southern region of western Taiwan. It is the largest plain of the island, and lies in Tainan City and Chiayi County/Chiayi City, from which the name of the plain derived. It also includes some portions of Yunlin County, Changhua County, and Kaohsiung City. There are several rivers flowing through it, such as the Zengwun River.

Chinese ritual mastery traditions, also referred to as ritual teachings, or Folk Taoism, or also Red Taoism, constitute a large group of Chinese orders of ritual officers who operate within the Chinese folk religion but outside the institutions of official Taoism. The Petition Movement for the Establishment of a Taiwanese Parliament was a political campaign during the first half of the 20th Century in the Japanese rule period. It was initiated by the New People Society (新民會), an organization founded by Taiwanese students studying in Japan, to advocate for the establishment of an autonomous parliament in Taiwan through petitions to the Japanese Imperial Diet. This movement marked a turning point for Taiwan's resistance against Japanese rule, shifting from armed resistance to modern-style political activism. It not only contributed to the development of the rule of law and the pursuit of constitutional values in Taiwan, but also influenced the Japanese government to introduce partial elections for half of the members of the Diet in 1935, initiating local autonomous governance in Taiwan.
Acer kawakamii is an Asian species of maple, found only in Taiwan. The species is sometimes confused with another Taiwanese tree, Acer morrisonense. This species has been known to reach 20 metres tall. Leaves are non-compound, the blade narrowly ovate, up to 11 cm long by 4.5 cm wide, with serrate margins but no lobes.

Philosophy in Taiwan is the set of philosophical traditions in Taiwan, while Taiwanese philosophy is taken to mean philosophical work from the country. Philosophical thought in Taiwan is diverse, drawing influence from Chinese philosophy during Qing rule from the 17th and 18th century, and Western philosophy through the Kyoto School during Japanese rule in the 19th and early 20th century. Taiwanese philosophy took a more endogenous turn during the modern era, with burgeoning philosophical debate regarding Taiwanese Gemeinschaft.

It was created in 2021 through the merger of National Chiao Tung University and National Yang-Ming University. At present, there are 19 colleges, 74 university/college level research centers, and 1 hospital in Yilan.
Saqacengalj is an abandoned or so-called former indigenous settlement of a Paiwan tribe in Gaoshi Village, Mudan Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan. The term “Saqacengalj” has the meaning of “a tool for chiseling slate,” and the site is believed to be the first settlement of the Paiwan people when they moved to Hengchun. Saqacengal, dating back to 500–600 years ago, is about 200–300 meters above sea level, and covers an area of 3.5 hectares. There were 6-7 waves of migration before the site was abandoned, and the Paiwan people finally settled down at the location of Gaoshi Village for the last migration around 50 years ago. The location of Saqacengalj is about 7 kilometers away from the current settlement of Gaoshi Village. There are still about 83 slate house structures at Saqacengalj, which are arranged in parallel rows along the mountain steps
Chang Yi-hsiung, born in Chiayi, Taiwan, was a renowned Taiwanese painter and art educator who resided in Japan and France for many years. In 1987, he became the first Taiwanese artist to be awarded the Artist Pension from the French government. In 2005, he was conferred the Fourth Order of the Brilliant Star by former President Chen Shui-bian. In 2016, President Tsai Ing-wen posthumously bestowed upon him the Order of Brilliant Light with Commendation.
Chang Hsiu-ya was a renowned female writer from Taiwan, also known by her baptismal name Cecilia (則濟利亞). She used pen names such as Chen Lan (陳藍), Chang Ya-lan (張亞藍), Hsin-ching, and others. Born in Cang County, Hebei Province, China, her family moved to Tianjin when she was seven years old. She later came to Taiwan in 1948. She served as a professor at Providence University and Fu Jen Catholic University's Graduate Institute. She is particularly well-known for her prose.
Hakka popular music is a genre of popular music composed and performed in the Hakka language, also known as modern Hakka music. It is mainly prevalent in Malaysia, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Guangdong, with Taiwanese Hakka popular music being the most vibrant and developed.
