The Military ranks of Somaliland are the military insignia used by the Somaliland Armed Forces, whose rank insignia combine those used by United Kingdom, which maintained colonial possessions in this country. Rank insignia follow thus the British pattern, but has four warrant officer ranks following the US model. The highest rank is lieutenant general, currently there has been no promotion to the rank of lieutenant general rank. [1] [2] Somaliland does not have an air force.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are the military forces of the Philippines. It consists of three main service branches; the Army, the Air Force, and the Navy. The President of the Philippines is the Commander-in-Chief of the AFP and forms military policy with the Department of National Defense, an executive department acting as the principal organ by which military policy is carried out, while the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines serves as the overall commander and the highest-ranking officer in the AFP.
Second lieutenant is a junior commissioned officer military rank in many armed forces. The lowest officer rank, it is usually placed below lieutenant or first lieutenant.
Commander is a common naval officer rank as well as a job title in many armies. Commander is also used as a rank or title in other formal organizations, including several police forces. In several countries this naval rank is termed frigate captain.
Staff sergeant is a rank of non-commissioned officer used in the armed forces of many countries. It is also a police rank in some police services.
Oberstleutnant is a senior field officer rank in several German-speaking and Scandinavian countries, equivalent to lieutenant colonel. First lieutenant is a commissioned officer military rank in many armed forces; in some forces, it is an appointment.
Military ranks and rank insignia of Norway were changed June 1, 2016, with the reintroduction of the Non-Commissioned Officer Corps, and the abolishment of the one-tier officer system in place since 1975.
Ensign is a junior rank of a commissioned officer in the armed forces of some countries, normally in the infantry or navy. As the junior officer in an infantry regiment was traditionally the carrier of the regimental colours, the rank acquired the name. This rank has generally been replaced in army ranks by second lieutenant. Ensigns were generally the lowest-ranking commissioned officer, except where the rank of subaltern existed. The Somali Police Force is the national police force and the main civil law enforcement agency of Somalia. As with most other police forces in the world, its duties include crime fighting, traffic control, maintaining public safety, counter-terrorism. It is under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Public Security.
The Italian military rank of maresciallo is classified as a "sub-officer" and is the highest rank of non-commissioned officer in the Italian Armed Forces. A new law approved in July 2008 changed the military ranks of Venezuela, principally with regard to names, functions and commanding regulation of the armed forces. The law was sanctioned by Venezuela's National Assembly.

The Somali Custodial Corps is the section of the Somali law enforcement in Somalia that is responsible for the maintenance and guarding of prisons and is a military provost due to the Corps investigating crimes within the Somali Armed Forces and bringing individuals before the Military Courts. Although the Custodial Corps is part of the Police, they have these powers as the Police was integrated into the military from 1960 to the turn of the 21st century. The Somali Custodial Corps were separated from the police in 1970. Since then, the government has separated the military from the Police, but the Corps still retains the same powers and responsibilities it had since 1970. Its function is quite similar to that of the Italian Arma dei Carabinieri, but the Custodial Corps fall under the Ministry of Justice. The founding commander was Ismail Ahmed Ismail.
