The 2025 Aurora mayoral election will be held on April 1, 2025 for the mayor of Aurora, Illinois. Incumbent mayor, Richard Irvin, is running for a third term as mayor. Primary elections are set to be held on February 25, 2025. [1]
Richard Irvin was first elected in 2017 with 55% of the vote. [2] He won re-election in 2021 against Judd Lofchie and John Laesch with 54.17% of the vote. [3] Irvin announced his re-election campaign in August 2024.
Aurora mayoral candidates run in a nonpartisan primary, with the top two candidates advancing to the general election. [6]
