Athina Sat was a Cypriotdigital satellite pay television service owned by the limited company of the same name. Launched in May 2005 and was the first Cypriot-owned DTH satellite provider in Cyprus. It was one of two satellite platforms, the other being Nova.
Athina Sat offered Cypriot subscribers an array of programming choices from News, Sports, Movies, Children's, Entertainment as well as popular Cypriot TV networks.
In March 2008 Athinsat decided to shut its doors due to the loss of several channels, including popular Cypriot networks LTV, and Alfa TV, which re-signed with Nova.

Television broadcasting in Greece began in 1966, preceded in 1951 by statute 1963 permitting television broadcasting.

In Cyprus, private broadcaster Sigma TV used to broadcast a number of Alpha TV's programs. In the past, public service broadcaster CyBC used to broadcast Alpha TV programs. In 2015, Alpha TV Cyprus was founded and it broadcast the Alpha TV Programs and others of its own. Alpha Cyprus now is one of the highest-rated Cypriot channels.
Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, or CyBC, is Cyprus' public broadcasting service. It transmits island-wide on four radio and two domestic television channels, and uses one satellite channel for the Cypriot diaspora. It also transmits on a separate high definition channel.
Alfa TV was a former pay television service available in Cyprus, that broadcast sports and children's programming as well as the odd film. It was owned by Alfa TV Ltd. and was launched in 1998. Alfa TV was one of only 2 pay-TV services in Cyprus, the other being Lumiere TV with whom Alfa TV had a programming agreement. Some of the programs on Alfa TV were broadcast incorporation with well-known pay-TV channels, and specifically with those of MultiChoice.
Canal Digital was a Nordic pay TV and internet service provider in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland that was founded in March 1997 as a joint venture between the French pay TV company Canal+ and the Norwegian telecommunications operator Telenor.

The company owns and operates a truly regional network, spanning across Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Russia and the United Kingdom, providing city-to-city connectivity, data communications, fiber optic fixed network infrastructure and IP-based services between key European and Middle East markets. Primetel is one of the few telecommunications operators in the region that can provide a full spectrum of connectivity and services.
Television in Cyprus was introduced in 1956. In 1957, CyBC was created. Private TV was introduced on 26 April 1992, by Logos TV which started its transmissions in stereo and Teletext from day one. The first private TV station of Cyprus was owned and operated by the Church of Cyprus. In August 1995, the same station introduced the first internet service provider in Cyprus, LOGOSNET. The Republic of Cyprus currently uses the PAL colour system and has converted terrestrial transmissions to digital on 1 July 2011, in line with EU policy. Because of the political division of the island, television companies are also divided.

HD+ is a premium high-definition (HD) satellite television service for German users, owned by HD PLUS GmbH, a subsidiary of SES based in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany.
Hellas Sat Consortium Ltd is the owner and a wholesaler of capacity and services of the Greek/Cypriot Hellas Sat 2 satellite, an Astrium Eurostar E2000+, which was launched successfully on 13 May 2003 to the 39th eastern meridian orbital position in the geostationary satellite orbit. On 29 June 2017 the Hellas Sat 3 was launched successfully to replace Hellas Sat 2.
Wind Vision is a digital television service introduced by WIND Hellas in April 2018. It is based on a Broadband IPTV infrastructure, where digital sound and vision is carried through a telephone line to a Set-Top Box and the customer’s TV. On 25 April 2018, Wind CEO Nassos Zarkalis introduced the company's IPTV service.. It is the first Android TV set-top-box in Greece with Netflix integrated. Also, it is the first service offering 4KTV resolution with HDR 10 technology.
