Forbes Park is a private subdivision, gated community, and barangay in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines. Established in 1940s partly out of the nearby barangay Pinagkaisahan, [1] Forbes Park was named after William Cameron Forbes, the fifth American governor-general of the Philippines during the American Insular Government.
The subdivision is divided into Forbes Park North and Forbes Park South by McKinley Road [2] and is bounded roughly by barangay Pinagkaisahan to the north, Bel-Air and Urdaneta Villages across Epifanio de los Santos Avenue to the northwest, Taguig (Fort Bonifacio which includes Bonifacio Global City) to the east, the Maricaban Creek to the south, and Dasmariñas Village to the west. [3] With an area of 2.5 square kilometers (0.97 sq mi), it is Makati's largest barangay in terms of land area since the transfer of the previous holder, Post Proper Southside, to Taguig in 2023. [4]
It was the first gated village in the Philippines to be developed by Ayala Corporation, [5] Forbes Park was a catalyst for urban development in Makati. [6] Forbes Park is home to the Manila Golf and Country Club and the Manila Polo Club. It has been called the "Beverly Hills of Manila" [7] and many of the country's wealthiest families, as well as foreign diplomats, live there. [8] [9]
The Santuario de San Antonio Parish, a Franciscan church, and San Antonio Plaza, a small commercial center, lie between North and South Forbes Park. Meanwhile, the Church of the Holy Trinity, an Anglican-Episcopalian pro-cathedral, is just across the road.
Makati, officially the City of Makati, is a highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines, known for being one of the leading financial center in the country. The daytime population of the city is estimated to be more than three million during a typical working day because of the large number of people who go to the city to work, shop, and do business.
Taguig, officially the City of Taguig, is a coastal city located in eastern shores of Metro Manila. It is the fifth-most populous city in the Philippines with a population of 1.2 million people. The city is one of the Philippines' cultural, financial, high-tech, entertainment and media centers with significant influence on commerce, health care, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, dining, art, fashion, and sports. Taguig is also an important center for the country's international diplomacy, hosting several embassies. The city also home to the headquarters of several major multinational corporations. Taguig has the fourth largest skyline in the Philippines, with 289 high-rises, 80 of which exceed 100 m (328 ft).
Bonifacio Global City is a financial business district in Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is located 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) southeast of the capital city of Manila. The district experienced commercial growth following the sale of a 440 ha military base at Fort Bonifacio by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). The entire district used to be the part of the main Philippine Army camp.

Dasmariñas is a barangay in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines. It occupies 1.9033 square kilometers (0.7349 sq mi) and is bounded by Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) to the north, McKinley Road to the northeast, Pili Avenue/Forbes Park South to the east, Maricaban Creek to the south, and Ecology Village to the west. It is roughly coterminous with Dasmariñas Village, a gated private residential subdivision. According to the 2020 census, it is inhabited by 4,160 people. Senator Gil J. Puyat Avenue, also known simply as Gil Puyat Avenue and by its former official name Buendia Avenue, is a major arterial thoroughfare which travels east–west through the cities of Makati and Pasay in western Metro Manila, Philippines. It is one of the busiest avenues in Metro Manila linking the Makati Central Business District with the rest of the metropolis.
Chino Roces Avenue, formerly known as Pasong Tamo, is a prominent north–south road in the cities of Makati and Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. It runs for 5.80 kilometers from Olympia and Tejeros to Fort Bonifacio. The avenue is named after the Filipino journalist Joaquin "Chino" Roces. The fact that the avenue is the location of various media establishments influenced the renaming.
J. P. Rizal Avenue, also known as J. P. Rizal Street, is a major local avenue in Makati and Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. It is a contour collector road on the south bank of the Pasig River that runs east–west from Pateros Bridge at the Taguig–Pateros boundary to its intersection with Zobel Roxas, Delpan, and Tejeron Streets at the Makati–Manila boundary. It is a component of Radial Road 4 (R-4). The avenue was named after the Philippines' national hero, Dr. José P. Rizal.
Kalayaan Avenue is a major east–west route in Makati and Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. For most of its length, it runs parallel to Jose P. Rizal Avenue to the north from East Rembo near Fort Bonifacio to Barangay Singkamas by the border with Santa Ana, Manila. It is interrupted by Bel-Air Village between Rockwell Drive and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA). The avenue east of EDSA is designated as a component of National Route 190 of the Philippine highway network.
McKinley Road is a tree-lined avenue linking the central business districts of Makati and Bonifacio Global City, Taguig in Metro Manila, Philippines. It is a continuation of Ayala Avenue, south of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), which runs for approximately 1.9 kilometers (1.2 mi) through the affluent neighborhoods of Forbes Park and Dasmariñas Village. It is home to the exclusive Manila Polo Club and the Manila Golf and Country Club.
The Makati Central Business District is a financial and central business district in the Philippines located in the heart of Makati in Metro Manila. It is politically known as "Central Cluster" in the West District of Makati. It is different from the Makati civic center known as "Makati Poblacion" which is situated at the northeast portion of the district. It is bounded by EDSA, Amorsolo Street, Ayala Avenue, Gil Puyat Avenue, Osmeña Highway, South Luzon Expressway, Metro Manila Skyway, Zobel Roxas Street, Ocampo Street, Metropolitan Avenue, Nicanor Garcia Street, Kalayaan Avenue, Makati Avenue, Anza Street, Polaris Street, Orion Street, Mercedes Street, Amapola Street and Estrella Street. Pinagsama is an administrative division in Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is an urban barangay located in the western portion of the city Taguig.
The Makati Park and Garden, sometimes called Fort Bonifacio Riverside Park and Liwasang Bonifacio by local residents, is an urban riverfront park along the south bank of the Pasig River in Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. It has an area of 35,433 square meters (381,400 sq ft). In the aftermath of the 2021 Supreme Court decision, which favors Taguig with regards to the political and territorial jurisdiction of Fort Bonifacio and the Embo barangays, ownership dispute arises when Taguig attempted to takeover the park on March 1, 2024. The City of Taguig claims the Park and Garden on the grounds of "(Makati's) unlawful possession".
The Bonifacio Capital District (BCD) is a financial district in Metro Manila, Philippines under the joint management of Megaworld Corporation and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority. It covers the southern area of Fort Bonifacio with the Bonifacio Global City district situated north of the BCD, with McKinley Hill under the jurisdiction of Barangay Pinagsama and the rest under Barangay Fort Bonifacio. Makati claimed jurisdiction of most of the area as part of Barangay Post Proper Southside, which was later transferred to Taguig as part of the 2021 Supreme Court decision on the border dispute.The former Makati barangay has its barangay hall and de facto control of a residential area just north of McKinley West.

Post Proper Southside, also known as Post Proper South, Barangay 31, or simply Southside, is one of the barangays of Taguig, a city in Metro Manila, Philippines. It is also widely considered as one of the ten Embo barangays. It was established in 1972 as a barangay under Makati, and its de facto territory consists of multiple exclaves mostly within Palar Village of Barangay Pinagsama and settlements along the Consular Road area between McKinley West of the Bonifacio Capital District and Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Barangay Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Makati's 2nd congressional district is one of the congressional districts of the Philippines in the cities of Makati and Taguig. It has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 1998. It is one of the two districts comprising Makati and, following the Makati–Taguig boundary dispute, as one of the three districts comprising Taguig. The district consists of eastern Makati barangays of Guadalupe Nuevo, Guadalupe Viejo, and Pinagkaisahan, along with the northwestern Taguig barangays of Cembo, Comembo, East Rembo, Pembo, Pitogo, Post Proper Northside, Post Proper Southside, Rizal, South Cembo and West Rembo, collectively known as the Embo barangays that were part of Makati until 2023. It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Luis Jose Angel Campos Jr. of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC).
Embo, which stands for Enlisted Men's Barrio, refers to a collective term for ten barangays in Taguig, Philippines. The barangays were originally established to house military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). The area were formerly disputed between the cities of Makati and Taguig, as well as the municipality of Pateros. As of November 2023, the barangays were transferred from Makati to Taguig.
