King Giddra was a Japanese hip hop group that started in 1993. They were signed to the indie label P-Vine Records. After a six-year hiatus, they would go on to sign with DefStar Records, a sublabel under Sony Music Entertainment Japan (SMEJ) for their second album release.
Reflection Eternal is an American hip hop duo composed of emcee Talib Kweli and producer Hi-Tek. They released their first album, Train of Thought, in 2000. They have since released a mixtape, The RE: Union, in late December 2009, and their second album Revolutions Per Minute was released May 18, 2010.

Hideyuki Yokoi, known professionally as Zeebra, is a Japanese hip hop rapper and DJ who made his first appearance in 1995. Zeebra is a former member of the hip-hop group King Giddra, which also included DJ Oasis and K Dub Shine. He went on to pursue a solo career shortly after in 1997, and signed with the Future Shock record label.
Drunken Tiger was a Korean hip hop group that debuted in 1999 and has since released several albums and won numerous awards. They are known as pioneers of Korean hip-hop who helped bring the genre into the mainstream.
David Marvin Blake, better known by his stage names DJ Quik or Da Quiksta, is an American rapper and producer, known for his production in the G-funk style of West Coast hip-hop. Blake has collaborated with Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Tupac, Chingy, R. Kelly and Shaquille O'Neal, among others. Blake's stage name reflects his ability to produce songs in a short period of time. Some of his top songs include "Dollaz + Sense", "Tonite", "Born and Raised in Compton" and "Jus Lyke Compton".
Rip Slyme is a Japanese hip hop group. In its best known incarnation, it was primarily composed of four MCs and a DJ, Fumiya. Pes and Su have since parted ways with the group. Their sound is influenced by old-school hip hop and other western rappers such as The Pharcyde, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Jurassic 5, the Beastie Boys, DJ Premier and Leaders of the New School.

Hip-hop or hip hop, also known as rap, and formerly known as disco rap, is a genre of popular music that originated in the early 1970s by African Americans and Caribbean immigrants in the Bronx, a borough of New York City. Hip-hop music originated as an anti-drug and anti-violence genre consisting of stylized rhythmic music that often accompanies rapping, a rhythmic delivery of poetic speech. According to the professor Asante of African American studies at Temple University, "hip hop is something that blacks can unequivocally claim as their own". The music developed as part of the broader hip hop culture, a subculture defined by four key stylistic elements: MCing/rapping, DJing/scratching with turntables, breakdancing, and graffiti art. While often used to refer solely to rapping and rap music, "hip hop" more properly denotes the practice of the entire subculture. The term hip hop music is sometimes used synonymously with the term rap music, though rapping is not a required component of hip hop music; the genre may also incorporate other elements of the culture, including DJing, turntablism, scratching, beatboxing, and instrumental tracks.
The Tour of Misia 2007 Ascension was the eleventh concert tour by Japanese recording artist Misia, in support of her album Ascension (2007). Comprising a set list of songs from Ascension and previous albums, including two hip-hop and house medleys, the tour visited arenas nationwide for a duration of four months. The tour was announced on August 3, 2006, two days prior to the start of Misia's Hoshizora no Live III Music Is a Joy Forever summer tour. The Tour of Misia 2007 Ascension commenced in November 2006 and concluded three days after the release of Ascension, in February 2007. Initially scheduled to run for eighteen shows, an additional date was later added to the itinerary. Sponsored by OCN, the tour drew an estimated audience of 160,000.
Desi hip hop is a term for music and culture which combines the influences of hip hop and the Indian subcontinent; the term desi referring to the South Asian diaspora. The term has also come to be used as an alternative for rap music and even pop music which involves rappers of South Asian origins.
Rhythmatic Eternal King Supreme is the fifth studio album by rapper Reks. The album was released on March 8, 2011, under ShowOff and Brick Records. The album received favorable reviews from most music critics. The album was nominated for Hip-Hop Album of the Year for the Boston Music Awards and the UMA. Lee Ha-yi, known by her stage name Lee Hi, is a South Korean singer and songwriter. She first garnered attention as the runner-up of K-pop Star 1. She debuted with single "1, 2, 3, 4" on October 28, 2012, and reached number one with first week sales of 667,549 downloads. Her first full-length album First Love was released in two parts, part 1 on March 7, 2013, and part 2 on March 28, 2013.

Cydel Charles Young, known professionally as CyHi the Prynce, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. In 2009, he signed his first major-label recording contract in a joint venture with Akon's Konvict Muzik and Def Jam Recordings. In 2010, Young gained further mainstream attention for his work with rapper Kanye West after appearing on his highly acclaimed fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010). Young would also heavily co-write lyrics for West's discography in the following years, resulting in six Grammy Award nominations for Best Rap Song.
