The Party for the Animals is a political party in the Netherlands. Among its main goals are animal rights and animal welfare. The PvdD was founded in 2002 as a single-issue party for animal rights, opposing animal cruelty and the treatment of animals in agriculture. The party then developed into a left-wing, ecological party.
Marianne Louise Thieme is a Dutch politician, author and animal rights activist. A jurist and theologian by education, she served as the Party for the Animals' political leader from 2002 to 2019 and a member of the House of Representatives from 2006 to 2019.
Dion Jean Gilbert Graus is a Dutch politician. He has been an MP on behalf of the Party for Freedom since 30 November 2006.
Esther Ouwehand is a Dutch politician and former marketing manager serving as leader of the Party for the Animals and its parliamentary group in the House of Representatives since 2019. She has been a member of the House of Representatives since the 2006 election with two interruptions.
Animal Welfare Party (AWP) is a minor political party in the United Kingdom campaigning on an animal welfare, environment and health platform.
The Animalist Party With the Environment, formerly called Animalist Party Against the Mistreatment of Animals, is a Spanish political party founded in Bilbao on 24 February 2003. It is focused on animal rights and animal welfare, as a part of the requirement of respect for the right to life. Although its headquarters were initially in Barcelona, it is now established in Madrid.
Natasja Oerlemans is head Food & Agriculture at World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Netherlands. She was a prominent member of the Party for the Animals.
De Nieuwe Mens, formerly known as the Party for Human and Spirit, is a political party in the Netherlands. The party registered with the electoral council in December 2008.
Anja Hazekamp is a Dutch politician and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Netherlands. She is a member of the Party for the Animals, part of the European United Left–Nordic Green Left. Previously she was member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands in 2012 and member of the States of Groningen between 2007 and 2014.
Christine Teunissen is a Dutch politician of the Party for the Animals. Since 24 March 2014 she has been a member of the municipal council of The Hague, and since 9 June 2015 she has also been a member of the Senate. She was the youngest one of that Senate session. In the senate elections of May 2019 she was reelected as a senate member.
In the run up to the 2024 Belgian federal election, various organisations carried out opinion polling to gauge voting intention in Belgium. The results of nationwide polls are usually numerically split into the three Belgian regions: Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. Federal seat projections for the Chamber of Representatives are presented together under these regional polls. The federal election was part of a group of elections which also include the regional elections and the European elections held on the same day. Some polls might be undefined voting intentions without differentiating between the elections.
DierAnimal is an animal welfare political party in Belgium. The party seeks to create a society where all living things are respected equally regardless of skin color, gender, age or species. It supports "animal liberation" and opposes the meat industry. In the 2019 regional elections, with Victoria Austraet the party won a single seat in the Brussels Parliament.
Eva Maria van Esch is a Dutch politician, currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Party for the Animals. She was appointed on 9 October 2019, taking the seat of outgoing party leader Marianne Thieme. She previously served as the party's parliamentary leader in the Utrecht City Council.
Femke Merel van Kooten-Arissen is a Dutch politician and former member of the House of Representatives.
De Vloek was a squatted, self-managed social centre in The Hague, the Netherlands, between 2002 and 2015. Located on Hellingweg 127 in Scheveningen, beside the North Sea, the squat hosted workplaces, living spaces, a venue, and a vegan restaurant. The local council tolerated the occupation until 2014, when it decided to sell the building. A political struggle over the eviction began; some political parties supported the squatters and the Scheveningen Pier was briefly occupied as a protest action. A deal was made for the squatters to move to a former school building and the Vloek was eventually evicted in September 2015.
Leonie Vestering is a Dutch politician of the Party for the Animals (PvdD). She campaigned against circus animals, and she was a member of the States of Flevoland and the Almere municipal council. Vestering was elected to the House of Representatives in 2021 and resigned in September 2023 in response to a conflict within her party.
Daniël "Daan" de Neef is a Dutch speechwriter and former politician. A member of the conservative liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), De Neef was a political staffer of the VVD and owned a speech consultancy. He held a seat in the Breda municipal council starting in 2018 and was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2021 general election. De Neef stepped down the following year and switched to the Party for the Animals (PvdD) shortly after.

Animals' Party is an animal rights party in Sweden, founded on February 14, 2014.
