Western Mustangs

The Western Mustangs are the athletic teams that represent Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. The school's athletic program supports 26 varsity sports. Their mascot is a Mustang named J.W. and the school colours are purple and white. The university's varsity teams compete in the Ontario University Athletics conference and the national U Sports organization. Western University offers 21 varsity sports for men and 19 for women which compete in the OUA conference. Kevin Cordón Badminton player

Kevin Haroldo Cordón Buezo is a Guatemalan badminton player. He won two men's singles title at the Pan American Games, three title at the Pan Am Championships, and six title at the Central American and Caribbean Games. He is a four time Olympian for Guatemala participating at the 2008, 2012, 2016 and the 2020 Olympic Games.

Karen Cope Charles is a female beach volleyball and volleyball player from Costa Rica who played the 2006 and 2010 FIVB indoor World Championships and the 2015 World Championships and the 2016 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball.

Bianca Farella is a Canadian rugby player. In 2016, she was named to Canada's first ever women's rugby sevens Olympic team.

Josephine Yuenling Wu is a Canadian badminton player. Josephine is currently a business student at the University of Alberta and has been competing in badminton since she was seven years old.

Canada is currently competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games have been postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation's debut in 1900, Canadian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of the country's support for United States-led boycott.

Peru is currently competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the nation's official debut in 1936, Peruvian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.

Mexico is currently competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. It is the nation's twenty-fourth appearance at the Summer Olympics. Athletes were given priority for vaccines in March.

The 2021 Junior Pan American Games is a forthcoming international multi-sports event for athletes aged 18 to 21 in the Americas, organized by Panam Sports to be held in Cali, Colombia between September 9 to 19, 2021.

Badminton competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held between July 29 and August 2, 2019 at the Polideportivo 3, which also hosted the roller sports (artistic) and table tennis competitions.

Trinity Western Spartans mens volleyball

The Trinity Western Spartans men's volleyball team is a university varsity volleyball program in Canada that represents Trinity Western University, competing in the Canada West Universities Athletics Association of U Sports. Based out of Langley, British Columbia, the Spartans play their home games at the Langley Events Centre, a multi-sport facility close to the main campus. Led by then head coach Ron Pike, the Spartans won their first ever National Championship in 2006, defeating the University of Alberta Golden Bears in the final by a score of 3-0. Since then, the Spartans have won five more championships, for a total of six, hoisting the Tantramar Trophy again in 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, and 2019. Since 2007, the Spartans have been led by head coach Ben Josephson. In the Canada West conference, the Spartans have won the league title six times, taking the conference championship in 2007, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020.

Saskatchewan Huskies womens basketball Womens university basketball team

The Saskatchewan Huskies women's basketball team represents the University of Saskatchewan in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association of U Sports women's basketball. The Huskies have captured two national championships, winning the first in 2016, followed by a victory in 2020. Led by head coach Lisa Thomaidis, who first led the program for the 1998-99 season, she has also served as head coach of the Canada women's national basketball team. Holding the program record for regular season wins (281), Canada West playoff wins (49) and U Sports National Tournament wins (19), the Huskies have also won seven Canada West titles under her tutelage. Home games are contested at the Physical Activity Complex (PAC), which was constructed in 2003.

Isabelle Connor is an American group rhythmic gymnast who will represent the United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She will be the first student at the University of California, Santa Cruz to compete at the Olympics.
