The ALBA Games (Spanish: Juegos Deportivos del ALBA) are a multi-sport event organized by the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA). The games are held once every two years. [1] It was originally intended only for athletes of the ALBA member states but it has expanded to other countries in the Americas.
The first edition was held in 2005 in Havana, Cuba. Since then it was decided that Cuba and Venezuela will be switching editions every two years. However, there is a possibility that other countries may host the games in future editions. [2]
Amid the international isolation Russia is facing due to the invasion of Ukraine, ALBA invited Russia to participate at the 2023 Games. [3] Russia sent 48 athletes to the 2023 ALBA Games and competed under its national flag.
ALBA's 10 member states are Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Venezuela.

The athletes marched on behalf of their respective delegations representing Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Nicaragua, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Venezuela. Russia was due to take part in boxing, beach volleyball, karate, table tennis, trampolining, weightlifting and rhythmic gymnastics. The Games were set to see approximately 3,500 athletes from 11 countries compete in 35 sports. Russian athletes were invited as special guests thanks to an agreement signed by Russia and Venezuela in October 2021. [4] Russia sent 48 athletes to the 2023 ALBA Games and competed under its national flag. Athletes from host nation Venezuela won the most medals. [5]

ALBA or ALBA–TCP, formally the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America or the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples' Trade Treaty, is an intergovernmental organization based on the idea of political and economic integration of Latin American and Caribbean countries.
The track and field competition in the 1998 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in Maracaibo, Venezuela. It was the first edition to feature women's hammer throw and pole vault.
The Athletics Competition at the 1995 Pan American Games was held in Mar del Plata, Argentina between 17 and 25 March.
The 2003 Central American and Caribbean Championships in athletics were held in St George's, Grenada, between 4–6 July 2003. It was the first time that the country had hosted the competition.
The Latin American Table Tennis Union (LATTU), or Unión Latinoamericana de Tenis de Mesa (ULTM) in Spanish, was one of the table tennis continental federations recognized by International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) before 2021. The ULTM was composed of 37 national or regional table tennis associations, working on the development of table tennis in Latin America.
The 2011 CONCACAF U-17 Championship qualification tournaments took place in 2010 to qualify national teams for the 2011 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.
Athletics at the 2014 Pan American Sports Festival took place from August 15 to 16, 2014. The event was held at the Estadio Jesús Martínez "Palillo" in Mexico City, Mexico. A total of 34 events were contested, 17 by men and 17 by women. There were no road races, no relays, and no combined events.
The Athletics competition at the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in Veracruz, Mexico.
The athletics competition at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games was held in Barranquilla, Colombia from 29 July to 3 August at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez.
Athletics competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held between July 27 and August 11, 2019 at the Athletics Stadium in the Villa Deportiva Nacional Videna cluster, with the marathon and walks being held at Kennedy Park.
The Dominica national football team represents Dominica in international football under the control of the Dominica Football Association (DFA). Although a Dominica representative team had played previously, the football association was founded in 1970. It became fully affiliated to FIFA and CONCACAF in 1994.
Athletics competitions at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia were scheduled to be held from November 30 – December 4, 2021.
The 2022 Pan American Cross Country Cup took place on March 27, 2022, in Serra, Brazil.
The Saint Lucia national football team represents Saint Lucia in international football under the control of the Saint Lucia Football Association (SLFA). Although a Saint Lucia representative team had played previously, the football association was founded in 1979. It became fully affiliated to CONCACAF in 1986 and joined FIFA two years later.
