The European Masters Games (EMG) is a multi-sport event, consisting of summer sports, held every four years. The European Masters Games are owned by the International Masters Games Association (IMGA), owners of the World Masters Games. The age categories vary depending on the sport, but the competition is generally for people 30–35 years or older. The first games were held in 2008 in Malmö, Sweden. The European Masters Games are held once every four years, while the last games were held in 2015 in Nice, France. The next games will be celebrated in Turin, Italy, in 2019. The International Masters Games Association (IMGA), based in Lausanne, Switzerland, is the body responsible for the bidding and placing of the games.
The first European Masters Games (EMG) was held from August 29 to September 7, 2008, in Malmö, Sweden. There were a total of 3,022 athletes who competed in 18 sports during the 10 days the games were held.

The Tornado is a double handed multihull class recognised as an International Class by the International Sailing Federation. It was used for the Catamaran discipline at the Olympic Games from 1976 to 2008.
The Laser Radial or ILCA 6 is a popular one-design class of small sailing dinghy, originally built by Laser Performance. It is a singlehanded boat, meaning that it is sailed by one person. The World Memory Championships is an organized competition of memory sports in which competitors memorize as much information as possible within a given period of time. World ParaVolley, formerly the World Organization Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD), is an international organization that is for people with physical disabilities. It is affiliated with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The World Organization Volleyball for Disabled was established in 1981 and was part of the International Sports Organization for Disabled (ISOD). In 1992 the WOVD became its own separate Organization in Barcelona, Spain. The WOVD Headquarters were also established in the Netherlands. The WOVD is responsible for managing and controlling the conduct of international volleyball competitions for men, women and youth. The WOVD also liaises with IPC (as an independent organisation) and with other organizations for people with or without disabilities. The organization adopted its present name World ParaVolley at its 2014 general assembly.
The 2011 European Masters Games is the second edition of the multi-sport event for masters sport, scheduled to take place between 10–20 September 2011 in the areas of Lignano Sabbiadoro and Friuli-Venezia Giulia in Italy.
The European Swimming Masters Championships is an international Aquatics championships for adults. The championships are held biennially, with competition in all five of FINA's disciplines: Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Open Water Swimming, and Synchronized Swimming. Starting in 2016, the competition will be held jointly with the European Aquatics Championships.
