Penwhaupell is a locality in the North Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. [2] In the 2021 census, Penwhaupell had "no people or a very low population". [1]

History

Penwhaupell is the name of a cattle station. Its name is derived from Penwapple Reservoir near Girvan in Scotland and was named by its first owner Thomas Gray, who originated from Girvan. 'Pen' means Home of and 'Whaupell or 'wapple' means many hills. [ citation needed ]

The property was then[ when? ] sold to Ben Micklewaith and the newspaper clipping of a ball at Penwhaupell is found below. [3] [4]

In 1913, the property was sold to Mr S. A. Lindeman. [5] By 1923, it was being operated by G. and D. Bambling. [6]
