The Sisu GTP is a Finnish made four-wheeled, modular mine-resistant ambush protected armoured personnel carrier (APC) designed and built by Sisu Auto. The first version was produced in 2018. [4]

Contents

In June 2020, the Finnish Defense Forces ordered six vehicles for testing. [5] In December 2022, the Finnish Defence Forces ordered 25 vehicles more. They will replace RG-32M in Finnish service. [6]

Design

The vehicle has a chassis base with mission modules that can be changed.

It uses Texelis T700 axles with independent suspensions. [7] [8]

Framework agreement FISE

Through the framework agreement between Finland and Sweden for defence cooperation, over 260 vehicles are planned to be produced. It includes troop transport variants, air-defence, command and control, medical care, single cab transport variants and CBRN reconnaissance. [9]

Failed bids

Sisu GTP was evaluated against AM General HMMWV, Otokar Cobra and Paramount Marauder in 2018 [14] and selected as winner in a tender to supply armored vehicles for Latvian armed forces. [15] The deal, worth about 200 million euros, was canceled in 2019 after AM General and Paramount Group complained about the procurement procedure. [16]

The Katmerciler Hızır is a family of MRAP armoured personnel carriers designed and produced by Turkish company Katmerciler. Hızır is capable of carrying up to nine personnel and its various modifications can perform a wide variety of tasks, such as military personnel transportation, medical evacuation, engaging in armed combat, serving as a mobile command and control center or weapons carrier platform, conducting military reconnaissance and border patrol missions or providing CBRN defence. The name Hızır is the Turkish variant of Khidr, a mystical Islamic figure described in the Quran as a guardian that aids those in distress.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Iveco MTV</span> Infantry mobility vehicle

The Iveco MTV, military designation Manticore, is an infantry mobility vehicle designed and manufactered by IVECO Defence Vehicles for the Netherlands Armed Forces. The acquisition is part of the Joint Replacement Programme of Wheeled Vehicles of the Dutch Ministry of Defence, with deliveries planned from 2023 until 2026. In Dutch service, the Manticore will replace the ageing fleet of Mercedes-Benz 290GDs of the Royal Netherlands Army, the Land Rovers of the Netherlands Marine Corps and the remaining YPR-765s of the Royal Netherlands Air Force and Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. Deliveries are planned for the second half of 2023 and should be completed by 2026.
