The Transjakarta Corridor 3 is a bus rapid transit route in Jakarta, Indonesia, operated by Transjakarta. It serves from the Kalideres Bus Terminal to the Monumen Nasional BRT station. The streets that are passed by Corridor 3 are: Daan Mogot, Kyai Tapa, Hasyim Ashari, Cideng Barat/Timur Street, Veteran/Majapahit, and Medan Merdeka Barat. Corridor 3 is integrated with KAI Commuter Tangerang Line at Taman Kota Station and Pesing Station.
Until March 3, 2023, Corridor 3 serves the route from Kalideres to Pasar Baru. As the impact of Jakarta MRT phase 2A construction, Corridor 3 temporarily moved the terminus to Monumen Nasional as of May 29, 2023, ceasing service of Pecenongan, Juanda, and Pasar Baru stations, which are now served by temporarily-extended Corridor 8. [1]
Along with Corridor 2, Corridor 3 was inaugurated on January 15, 2006 which received high enthusiasm from the people. [2] [3] [4] It was targeted that there would be 71 new bus fleets serving Corridor 3 and 2 on April 2006, or three months after the first day of operational. [5] Corridor 3 was originally serving the route from Kalideres to Pasar Baru until it was temporarily readjusted in 2023.
Corridors 1, 3, and 9 were the first Transjakarta corridors to began 24-hour services starting on June 1, 2014. [6] [7] At the time, the bus only stops at certain stations. Sometime later, all stations are served by buses 24 hours a day, so the bus currently stops at all stations.
On December 16, 2020, to improve service quality, one of the BRT stations on Corridor 3, namely the Pasar Baru station (as the terminus of Corridor 3 until it was temporarily moved to Monas, now Monumen Nasional) was temporarily closed for revitalization. The revitalization of the Pasar Baru station was completed one month later on January 16, 2021. [8] The Pasar Baru bus station renovation marked the start of the revitalization of 46 Transjakarta bus shelters in 2022. [9]
As the follow-up of the revitalized Pasar Baru bus station, the Jembatan Gantung bus station was also temporarily closed for revitalization since September 5, 2022 [10] and the Kalideres bus station on the next day (September 6, 2022). [11] The revitalized Jembatan Gantung bus station was reopened on April 6, 2023, [12] followed by Kalideres on July 23, 2023. [13]
Later on June 1, 2023, Jembatan Baru bus station was also closed for revitalization and Grogol 1 (now Grogol, and alongside skybridge-connected Grogol 2, now Grogol Reformasi) two days later. [14] Jembatan Baru station was reopened on October 21, 2023. [15] Grogol station was reopened to the public on November 4, 2023.
Starting on March 4, 2023, as the impact of the Jakarta MRT Phase 2A construction, the Harmoni bus station which serves Corridor 1, 2, 3, and 8, was temporarily moved its operational into a temporary building with limited capacity that only serves Corridor 1 passengers. To prevent overcapacity of the Pasar Baru station due to high density of Corridor 3 and 8 passengers, Transjakarta decided to temporarily move the terminus of Corridor 3 to the Bundaran HI bus station, thus no longer serving Pecenongan, Juanda, and Pasar Baru stations, which in turn are now served by temporarily-extended Corridor 8. [16] [17] [18] However on May 29, 2023, the line was cut short to terminate at Monumen Nasional to reduce headways. [1] Transjakarta also operates Route 3H (Stasiun Pesing–Kota) to serve Corridor 3 passengers who wanted to go to Kota station which usually transit to Corridor 1 at Harmoni Central before the readjustment. [19] This temporary readjustment is effective until the MRT construction completed in 2027 or 2029.
