BRT station revitalization
On 15 April 2022, as one of the stations of Corridor 5, Transjakarta temporarily closed the Matraman Baru station for revitalization along with 10 other stations on Corridor 1, 2, 9, and 11. [4] [5] The revitalization was carried out to integrate Corridor 5 with the Matraman railway station as the brand new station on the KRL Commuterline system. [6] it was later followed by the Senen Sentral and Pasar Jatinegara (now Bali Mester) BRT stations, which were temporarily closed on 4 and 6 September 2022 respectively. [7] [8] [9] Eventually on 22 December 2022, the revitalized Matraman Baru station was reopened. [10] Later on 15 February 2023, the revitalized Pasar Jatinegara BRT station was reopened as Bali Mester, [11] later followed by the revitalized Senen Sentral BRT station on 31 May 2023. [12]
On 7 January 2023, the Kampung Melayu BRT station at the Kampung Melayu bus terminal was temporarily closed for revitalization either. The station is the terminus of Corridor 5, 7, and 11, and several non-BRT routes. As the impact of the closure, Corridor 5 temporarily terminated at Bali Mester BRT station, Corridor 7 at Bidara Cina, and Corridor 11 at Matraman Baru, while non-BRT bus routes still operated normally. [13] [14] At the first day of the closure, a number of passengers didn't know that the Kampung Melayu BRT station was temporarily closed. [15] The Kampung Melayu station was reopened on 19 July 2023, and all affected routes returned to operate normally. [16]
