  2. Godden was a sitting councillor representing the Malden Manor ward
  3. Edgington was a sitting councillor representing the Tudor ward
  4. Reid was elected in a by-election triggered by the resignation of Mary Watts [6]
  5. Bradford was a sitting councillor representing the Surbiton Hill ward
  6. McDonald was elected in a by-election triggered by the resignation of Cllr. Adrian J. Clare in 1995 [6]
  7. Evans was elected in a by-election triggered by the resignation of Cllr Jonathan E.M. Stratford in 1996 [6]
  8. Flux was a sitting councillor representing the Tolworth South ward
