The First Legislative Assembly of Telangana was constituted after the 2014 Telangana Legislative Assembly elections which were held on 30 April 2014 and the results were announced on 16 May 2014, with K. Chandrashekar Rao from Telangana Rashtra Samithi taking oath as the 1st Chief Minister of Telangana on 2 June 2014. [1]

The 2015 cash-for-votes scam was a political scandal in India, the second scandal of its kind since the 2008 cash-for-votes scandal. The 2015 political scandal started off when the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders of Telangana state were caught in a video footage, aired in the media, offering bribes to a nominated MLA, Elvis Stephenson, for his vote in the 2015 elections of the Telangana Legislative Council. The TDP MLA Revanth Reddy was arrested by the Telangana Police when he was offering Rs. 50 lakhs to Stephenson. Reddy was then presented before the court and was sent to jail. Similarly, with N. Chandrababu Naidu, the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, with Stephenson was aired in the news media.

Muddasani Damodar Reddy was an Indian politician from the state of Andhra Pradesh. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kamalapur Assembly constituency from Telugu Desam Party and served as a Cabinet Minister in the governments of N. T. Rama Rao and N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Alimineti Uma Madhava Reddy is an Indian politician from the state of Telangana. She served as a cabinet minister in the second N. Chandrababu Naidu ministry and was the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Bhongir Assembly constituency representing the Telugu Desam Party. Currently, she is a member of Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
