The Federal University Lokoja, popularly known as Fulokoja or by its acronym, FUL, is a federal university in the confluence city of Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria. Lokoja lies at the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers.

The Federal University Lokoja was established in February 2011 by the Federal Government of Nigeria as a result of the indispensable need to create more universities in the country. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Faculties and College

Library

The library serves the requirements of its use for teaching, learning, and research. [7] [8]

The University Library was established in the same year the university was established with Dr. Adekunle Kareem Sanusi as the pioneer University Librarian. In May, 2015, a University Librarian, Dr. Ezra Shiloba Gbaje was appointed. Dr. Sarah DaudaYani was appointed the second University Librarian in October 2020 [9]

Partnership/MoU

The university signed a memorandum of agreement with The Institute Of Sales And Marketing Management Of Nigeria (ISMMN), in enrolling of students in diploma certificate course in sales and marketing management in Nigeria. [10]

Anti Corruption unit

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) ingurated is anticorruption unit in federal university of lokoja, this is to curb immoral act in the institution. [11]

Inauguration of Tech Lab

on the 16th of February 2024 there is a inauguration of Tech solar power modular Lab in the university. [12]

Commission of Building

The former governor of kogi state commission a administrative block building in federal teaching Hospital Lokoja,which is the Teaching hospital of the college of health science of the School. [13]

Matriculation

on the 5th of April the university matriculate 4925 students into various faculty in the school for the 2023/24 Academic section. [14]

Convocation

The university celebrated her 6th and 7th combined convocation ceremony on the 16th of October were 2511 students graduated from the university. [15]

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, fondly called UNIZIK, is a federal university in Nigeria. It consists of two campuses in Anambra State. Its main campus is in Awka, while its other campus is in Nnewi. There are also other campuses of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. These include Agulu in Anaocha local government area and Ifite-Ogwuari in Ayamelum local government area in Anambra State. Prince Abubakar Audu University,(Formerly Kogi State University) located at Anyigba, is a state-owned university of Kogi, Nigeria. It was established in 1999 by Prince Abubakar Audu, the former governor of the state. At the time of its establishment, it was known as Kogi State University, It was later renamed Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in 2020, after the then sitting governor of Kogi State, who heralded its establishment, and later renamed Kogi State University (KSU) in 2003 by the former governor Ibrahim Idris and subsequently renamed as Prince Abubakar Audu University in 2020 by Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in respect of late Abubakar Audu.

Kogi State Polytechnic was established in 1993, and is located in Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria. It is owned and operated by Kogi State. As of 2007 it was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to give certificates in Art and printing, Business, Engineering, Finance and Science Computing at the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels. In December 2009 the polytechnic presented 16 programs for accreditation to a visiting team of NBTE officials, mainly for the new schools of Engineering and Environmental Technology, Applied Science and Management Studies. The Rector said the school had to be able to offer core engineering and technology programs in order to fulfill its mandate.

Kogi State College of Education (CEOAnkpa) is a public higher teachers training institution of Kogi State. It is situated in Ankpa, a major town in the east of Kogi State. The college was affiliated with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria but was removed in 1994 by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE). COEk operates School System with several courses leading to the award of National Certificate in Education (NCE).

Francisca Onaolapo Oladipo is a Nigerian Professor of Computer Science, administrator and author. As of 2022, she is the Vice-Chancellor, Thomas Adewumi University, Nigeria. Prior to her appointment, she was Director of Quality Assurance at Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria. She is the Executive Coordinator, Virus Outbreak Data Network Africa and Asia (VODANA). She was the first woman to serve as a member of the Governing Council at the Federal University, Lokoja, and the first female Head of the Department of Computer Science at the university.

The Ahmadu Bello University is a public research university located in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. It was opened in 1962 as the University of Northern Nigeria.

Muhammed Salihu Audu better known as Muhammed S. Audu is a Nigerian academic. He served as the sixth Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Minna from 2007 to 2012. He is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja.

Olugbemiro Jegede is a Nigerian emeritus professor of Science Education. he was the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria. The Immediate past Secretary General, Association of African Universities (AAU) and the Chancellor of Littoral University, Porto-Novo, Republic of Benin.
