Gyle is a former settlement in Kern County, California. [1] It was located 23.5 miles (38 km) southwest of Delano. [1]

Delano is a city in Kern County, California, United States. Delano is located 31 miles (50 km) north-northwest of Bakersfield at an elevation of 315 feet (96 m). The population was 52,088 in 2016, up from 38,824 in 2000. It is Kern County's second largest city after Bakersfield.

A post office operated at Gyle from 1888 to 1889. [1]

The station was opened on 9 May 1985 by ScotRail and is located on the Fife Circle Line, 4 12 miles (7.2 km) west of Edinburgh Waverley. It has two platforms. There is a ticket machine and a shelter on each platform.

South Gyle

South Gyle is an area of Edinburgh, Scotland, lying on the western edge of the city and to the south and west of an area of former marshland once known as the Gogarloch, on the edge of Corstorphine. Most of the buildings in the area are of recent origin, dating from the later 1980s, 1990s and early 21st century, with the exception of some farm workers' cottages and an early 1970s council estate abutting South Gyle railway station.

Drumbrae or Drum Brae is the name of a suburb of west Edinburgh, Scotland generally considered to be part of the neighbouring larger areas of Corstorphine and Clermiston. This is a commuter settlement as many people who live in the area travel to the centre of town to attend work.

Cedric G. Gyles was a Canadian football player who played for the Calgary Stampeders. He won the Grey Cup with them in 1948. Gyles played junior football in Vancouver, British Columbia with the Junior Vancouver Blue Bombers. Gyles resides in Collingwood, Ontario and is one of the last surviving members of the 1948 Grey Cup championship team. An avid sailor, he is a long time member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club in Toronto, Ontario. He served as Club Commodore in 1985-86. The Minanha area is divided into three tiers; the Epicenter or Epicentral Court Complex, the Site Core, and the greater Minanha community. The Epicenter is approximately 9.5 hectares in size and consists of a raised elite residential and ritual northern acropolis and a lower component to the south, which is thought to have been for administrative, ritual, and residential features.
