Weldon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States. It sits at the southeast tip of Lake Isabella. Weldon is located 9 miles (14 km) east-southeast of Wofford Heights, at an elevation of 2,654 feet (809 m). The population was 2,642 at the 2010 census, up from 2,387 at the 2000 census.

Quercus agrifolia, the California live oak or coast live oak, is a highly variable, often shrubby evergreen oak tree, a type of live oak, native to the California Floristic Province. It grows west of the Sierra Nevada mountain range from Mendocino County, California, south to northern Baja California in Mexico. It is classified in the red oak section of oaks.
The Minarets are a series of jagged peaks located in the Ritter Range, a sub-range of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the state of California. They are easily viewed from Minaret Summit, which is accessible by auto. The peaks bear a certain resemblance to the minarets of Islamic mosques. Collectively, they form an arête, and are a prominent feature in the Ansel Adams Wilderness which was known as the Minaret Wilderness until it was renamed in honor of Ansel Adams in 1984.
Darwin Glacier is a large glacier flowing from the polar plateau eastward between the Darwin Mountains and the Cook Mountains to the Ross Ice Shelf. The lower part of the glacier was mapped by the British National Antarctic Expedition, 1901–04, and the whole area traversed by New Zealand parties of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1956–58). The glacier was named in association with the Darwin Mountains.

Leonard Padilla is an American bounty hunter. In 1975 he opened a bail bond company in Sacramento, California. He was chairman of the board of trustees of the Lorenzo Patiño Law School and a 1980 graduate of Lincoln Law School. Padilla has run for public office seven times, four times for Sacramento mayor, once for California governor in the 2003 recall election, once for Congress and once for Sacramento County Supervisor. The alternative weekly newspaper Sacramento News & Review named him one of Sacramento's most interesting people in 2010. Padilla was born in Firebaugh, California. Padilla grew up in California, moving frequently with his family to find field work. Padilla graduated in 1957 from Tulelake High School, which is near the border of Oregon. After graduating he enlisted in the Air Force, serving for four years abroad before being discharged in 1961. Padilla attended law school from 1975 to his graduation in 1980. In 1982, along with Judge Lorenzo Patiño, opened the Lorenzo Patiño Law School in downtown Sacramento, where he served as chairman of the board of trustees

Hewitt Glacier is a glacier, 15 nautical miles (28 km) long, descending the eastern slopes of the Holland Range, Antarctica, between Lewis Ridge and Mount Tripp to enter Richards Inlet. It was named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1959–60) for Leonard R. Hewitt, leader at Scott Base, 1959.
Kawhi Anthony Leonard is an American professional basketball player for the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Leonard played two seasons of college basketball for the San Diego State Aztecs, and was a consensus second-team All-American as a sophomore. He was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the 15th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft, but was traded to the San Antonio Spurs the same day. After seven seasons with the Spurs, Leonard was traded to the Raptors in 2018.
