The Logan Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of two counties – one in Utah and one in Idaho, anchored by the city of Logan. As of the 2010 census, the MSA had a population of 125,442. The Logan metropolitan area is colloquially called Cache Valley, where most of the population resides.

The Jackson Micropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of two counties, one in Wyoming and one in Idaho, anchored by the town of Jackson.

It is on the northern edge of the county, bordered to the northeast by Boise County and to the west by Idaho State Highway 55. The Spring Valley is in the western part of the CDP. The community is 8 miles (13 km) northeast of Eagle and 15 miles (24 km) north of Boise, the state capital.
