Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC) is a Chinese aircraft manufacturer in Shenyang,Liaoning and a subsidiary of AVIC. Founded in 1951 as the classified 112 Factory,it is the oldest aircraft manufacturer in the People's Republic of China. [2] Many other aircraft manufacturers in China,such as Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group or Guizhou Aircraft Industry Co.,were founded with help from SAC. The company mainly focuses on designing and manufacturing civilian and military aircraft and related components including jet engines,as well as UAVs such as SYAC UAV. [3]
Known as the "cradle of Chinese jetfighters" (Chinese :中国歼击机摇篮),SAC has been cited for producing China's first indigenously manufactured jetfighter,the J-5 (a license-built variant of the Soviet MiG-17);the first jetfighter designed by China,the JJ-1 trainer;as well as its success in developing the workhorse J-8,J-11,J-15 (China's first carrier-based aircraft) and J-16 fighters,the upcoming J-35 stealth aircraft (China's second fifth-generation fighter and potentially first carrier-based stealth fighter [4] ),and various lines of Chinese aircraft engines. On 27 November 2007,Cessna announced that the Cessna 162 Light Sport Aircraft would be produced by the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation. [6] The first production Cessna 162 took flight at Shenyang on 17 September 2009. The aircraft was not a success and production ended in January 2014 after 192 were sold. [7] [8] [9]
The Shenyang J-5 is a Chinese-built single-seat jet interceptor and fighter aircraft derived from the Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17. The J-5 was exported as the F-5 and was originally designated Dongfeng-101 and also Type 56 before being designated J-5 in 1964.
The Chengdu J-9 was an interceptor aircraft that was cancelled during development in the People's Republic of China (PRC). It was proposed in 1964 by the 601 Institute (Shenyang) as a higher-performing alternative to the Shenyang J-8. Development was disrupted by the Cultural Revolution and frequently changing requirements;in addition,development was transferred to the 611 Institute (Chengdu). The program was cancelled in 1980.
The Saturn AL-31 is a family of axial flow turbofan engines,developed by the Lyulka-Saturn design bureau in the Soviet Union,now NPO Saturn in Russia,originally as a 12.5-tonne powerplant for the Sukhoi Su-27 long range air superiority fighter. The AL-31 currently powers the Su-27 family of combat aircraft and some variants of the Chengdu J-10 multirole jet fighter. Assembly of the engine is also performed under license in India by HAL,for the Sukhoi Su-30MKI. Improved variants power the fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57 and Chengdu J-20.
Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corporation,also known as Xi'an Aircraft Company Limited (XAC),is a Chinese aircraft manufacturer and developer of large and medium-sized airplanes. It is based in Yanliang District,Xi'an,Shaanxi Province,adjacent to Xi'an Yanliang Airport. It is joint partners with No. 603 Aircraft Design Institute of military aircraft. China Aviation Industry Corporation I was a Chinese consortium of aircraft manufacturers. The consortium was created on 1 July 1999 by splitting the state-owned consortium Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) into AVIC I and AVIC II. AVIC I was historically focused on large planes such as bombers,medium commercial planes (ARJ21),or fighter planes,while AVIC II was focused on smaller planes and helicopters. On 28 October 2008,the companies officially consolidated back into one organization to more efficiently manage resources and avoid redundant projects.

It was designed by Shenyang Aircraft Design Institute (SYADI) and Hongdu Aviation Industry Group (HAIG) and is part of seven proposed models by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) program called "AVIC 601-S". The GJ-11 can perform precision strike and aerial reconnaissance missions.
