The 1829 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on March 1, 1829, in order to elect the Governor of Virginia. Incumbent Democratic Governor of Virginia William Branch Giles won re-election in the Virginia General Assembly as he ran unopposed. [1]

On election day, March 1, 1829, Democratic nominee William Branch Giles easily won re-election as he ran unopposed. Giles was sworn in for his third term on March 4, 1829. [2]
