The 2022 FIFA World Cup was an international men's football tournament that took place between 20 November and 18 December 2022 in Qatar. The competition was structured in the typical round-robin style during the initial group stage, with the top two teams of each group qualifying to the knockout stage. [1]

The Argentina v Mexico, Argentina v Croatia and Argentina v France matches at Lusail Stadium drew 88,966 spectators, the largest crowd to watch a men's World Cup match since 91,194 people attended the 1994 FIFA World Cup Final between Brazil and Italy at the Rose Bowl, [77] and the largest to attend any World Cup match since 90,185 people attended the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup Final between the United States and China at the same stadium. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Kylian Mbappé</span> French footballer (born 1998)

Kylian Mbappé Lottin is a French professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the France national team. Considered one of the best players in the world, Mbappé is renowned for his dribbling abilities, exceptional speed, and finishing.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup was an international men's football tournament, that took place between 14 June and 15 July 2018 in Russia. The competition was structured in the typical round-robin style during the initial group stages, with the top two teams of each group qualifying to the further stages. France and Croatia went to the finals and fought for the championship.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Enzo Fernández</span> Argentine footballer (born 2001)

Enzo Jeremías Fernández is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Primeira Liga club Benfica and the Argentina national team.

The knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup was the second and final stage of the competition, following the group stage. Played from 3 to 18 December, the knockout stage ended with the final, held at Lusail Stadium in Lusail. The top two teams from each group advanced to the knockout stage to compete in a single-elimination tournament. There were sixteen matches in the knockout stage, including a third-place play-off played between the two losing teams of the semi-finals.
