Ammonium mandelate is a chemical compound with the chemical formula C8H11NO3.This is an organic ammonium salt of mandelic acid. [2] [3]

Synthesis

The compound can be prepared by reacting mandelic acid and ammonia [4] or excess of strong ammonia water.

Physical properties

The compound forms odorless crystalline colorless powder. Very soluble in water, sparingly soluble in alcohol.

Uses

The compound is used as a urinary antiseptic. [5] [6] [7]
