" Candidatus Aenigmatarchaeum"^[1] is a monotypic genus of ultra-small archaea that belongs to the monotypic phylum "Candidatus Aenigmatarchaeota".^[2] It contains the sole species "Candidatus Aenigmatarchaeum subterraneum".^[3]^[1]^[4]
