Cowan Cowan is an island town and locality in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. [2] [3] In the 2021 census, the locality of Cowan Cowan had a population of 27 people. [1]

Geography

Cowan Cowan is on the western coast of Moreton Island facing Moreton Bay. [4] It is surrounded by Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) National Park. [5]

There are no formal roads connecting Cowan Cowan to other parts of the island, but there are some sand tracks and beaches which can be used by 4WD vehicles. [6] [7]

The land use is predominantly residential, [5] with some of it being holiday rentals. [7]

In the 2011 census, Moreton Island (including Cowan Cowan) had a population of 297 people. [8]
