State Route 147 is a state highway serving the Las Vegas Valley in southern Nevada. It is signed as Lake Mead Boulevard and runs from Interstate 15 (I-15) and U.S. Route 93 in North Las Vegas east to the border of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. It is not to be confused with Lake Mead Parkway, which also goes to Lake Mead but mainly runs in southern Las Vegas Valley and carries the designation of State Route 564.
The Newberry Mountains in Nevada are located east of Cal-Nev-Ari and the United States Coast Guard LORAN station in the southern part of the state. The range is Nevada's southernmost named mountain range, and lies to the northwest of the town of Laughlin and west of Lake Mohave. The Newberry Mountains connect with the Eldorado Mountains and The Highland Mountains. The highest point in the range is Spirit Mountain at 5,642 feet (1,720 m).
Navajo Mountain is a peak in San Juan County, Utah, with its southern flank extending into Coconino County, Arizona, in the United States. It holds an important place in the traditions of three local Native American tribes. The summit is the highest point on the Navajo Nation.
Frenchman Mountain is a mountain located east of Las Vegas, Nevada. Made up of rocks similar to those found on the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Frenchman Mountain formed when faulting elevated and tilted the rocks followed by erosion, giving it its sharp triangular profile. The mountain provides an example of the Great Unconformity with the tilted Paleozoic Tapeats Sandstone underlain by Paleoproterozoic Vishnu Schist, which is some of the oldest rock on the North American continent, having been created about two billion years ago.
The Black Mountains, a mid-Miocene formation, in Nevada are a series of rugged, arid rocky volcanic mountains ranging in elevations to 3310 ft. The range lies on the north shore of Lake Mead, at the southwest corner of the Overton Arm, about 25 mi south of Overton, Nevada.
The Eldorado Mountains, also called the El Dorado Mountains, are a north-south trending mountain range in southeast Nevada bordering west of the south-flowing Colorado River; the endorheic Eldorado Valley borders the range to the west, and the range is also on the western border of the Colorado River's Black Canyon of the Colorado, and El Dorado Canyon on the river. The range is 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada; and the Eldorado Mountains connect with the Highland and Newberry mountains.
The Black Canyon Wilderness in the state of Nevada is a 17,220-acre (6,970 ha) wilderness area located in the Dry Lake Watershed along Dry Lake Valley at Black Canyon of the Colorado, west of the Great Basin Divide. It is part of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Immediately to the south is the Eldorado Wilderness, in the El Dorado Mountains. Together, the two wilderness areas protect 49,170 acres (19,900 ha).
Isis Temple is a prominence in the Grand Canyon, Arizona, Southwestern United States. It is located below the North Rim and adjacent to the Granite Gorge along the Colorado River. The Trinity Creek and canyon flow due south at its west border; its north, and northeast border/flank is formed by Phantom Creek and canyon, a west tributary of Bright Angel Creek; the creeks intersect about 3 mi (4.8 km) southeast, and 1.0 mi (1.6 km) north of Granite Gorge. The Isis Temple prominence, is only about 202 ft (62 m) lower than Grand Canyon Village, the main public center on Grand Canyon’s South Rim.
Mount Wilson is a mountain in Mohave County, Arizona, U.S. At 5,456 feet (1,663 m), it is the second highest point of the Black Mountains after Mount Perkins.
Hager Mountain is a volcanic peak in Oregon in the northwest corner of the Basin and Range Province in the United States. The mountain is located south of the small unincorporated community of Silver Lake in south-central Oregon, and it is in the Fremont–Winema National Forest. On the summit, there is a fire lookout operated during the summer and fall by the United States Forest Service. There are several hiking trails that lead to the lookout station.
The White Hills are a range of hills in northern Mohave County, Arizona. These hills lie north of the Cerbat Mountains and extend south from the Colorado River at Lake Mead between the Detrital Valley to the west and the Gold Basin and the upper Hualapai Valley to the east. The north region of the White Hills is located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
The Grand Wash Cliffs extend south-southeast from the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument in northwest Arizona west of the Shivwits Plateau south through the Grand Cliffs Wilderness and into the Lake Mead Recreation Area. The Grand Wash Cliffs cross the Grand Canyon where the Colorado River enters Lake Mead. To the south of the Grand Canyon the Grand Wash Cliffs continue past the east side of Grapevine Mesa and then southeast above and east of the Hualapai Valley forming the southwest margin of the Music Mountains.
