Czech Lawn Tennis Club in Prague, Czechoslovakia, from 20 to 27 July. The United States defeated three-time defending champions Czechoslovakia in the final, giving the USA their 12th title. The finals marked Martina Navratilova's first return to Czechoslovakia since her defection to the United States in 1975.

The tournament was held at the Peachtree World of Tennis in Peachtree Corners, GA, United States, from 21 to 29 July.
