Kidepo Valley National Park is a 1,442 square kilometres (557 sq mi) national park in the Karamoja region in northeast Uganda. Kidepo is rugged savannah, dominated by the 2,750 metres (9,020 ft) Mount Morungole and transected by the Kidepo and Narus rivers.
The Ketebo people are an ethnic group in South Sudan. The Ketebo are inhabitants of Bira which is the land of the Ketebo. Bira which was a Ugandan Protectorate until 1925 and was transferred to Sudan's administration in 1926. The Ketebo are sometimes referred to by the Didinga as "Loceha/Loceka". The Ketebo live in Bira, which is one of the Payams of Kidepo County, Torit, Eastern Equatoria State of South Sudan. They are one of the smallest and least known tribes in South Sudan. The Ketebo in Uganda are called Mening, which is also one of the smallest tribes in Uganda. The population of this ethnic group is over 45,000. Bira is the land of the Ketebo which include; Lofus, Madial, Lorum, Lotome, Lojilingare, Arata, Nakoringole, Lonyili, Kamulach, Tulel, Ofi, Natedo, Nahitahapel (Ihapelmoru), Naurkori, Lochorangichokio, Lokudul, Napeyase, Ogeng, Tongoborei, Kalabe (Apoka), Irobi, Narus, Koryang, Tomoodo, Koryang, Losigiria, Irobi just to mention a few. The Ketebo people are also found in Lotukei in Budi County.
Kaabong District is a district in the Northern Region of Uganda. The district headquarters are in the similarly named town of Kaabong.
Simon Lokodo was a Ugandan politician who served as Minister of State for Ethics and Integrity in the Office of the President of Uganda since 2011. Previously, he was the Minister of State for Industry from 2009 to 2011. He also served as the elected Member of Parliament representing Dodoth County, Kaabong District since 2006 until he lost his Parliamentary seat in January 2021 after so many of his previous accusing him of supporting the act removal of age limit from the presidential aspirants. He also served as a member of the Uganda Human Rights Commission.
Kaabong is a town in the Northern Region of Uganda. It is the chief municipal, administrative and commercial center of the eponymous Kaabong District, and the district headquarters are located in the town.
Ik is one of the Kuliak languages of northeastern Uganda. The Kuliak languages form their own branch of the proposed Nilo-Saharan language family. With the other two Kuliak languages being moribund, Ik may soon be the sole remaining language of its family.
Nyang'i (Nyangia) is the nearly extinct Kuliak language of the Nyangea hunter-gatherers of northeastern Uganda. The 15,000 Nyangia have shifted to speaking Karamojong.
The Jie are an ethnic group in Uganda. They belong to the Karamojong Cluster, which also includes the Karamojong and Dodoth people. Their country in northeast Uganda lies between the Dodoth to the north and the Karamojong to the south.
Loyoro is a village in the Kaabong District of Uganda. It is in Kapedo Parish in Kapedo sub-county.
Karenga sub-county is a subdivision of Dodoth County in Kaabong District of northern Uganda. Kidepo Valley National Park forms the northern half of the sub-county.

Karenga is a town in the northeast of the Karamoja region of Uganda. It is located in the new Karenga District, which became effective in 2019.
Christine Nakwang Tubo also known as Christine Tubo Nakwang is a Ugandan politician who is currently the woman representative member of parliament for Kaabong District. Christine was among the National Resistance Movement (NRM) representative in the by- elections of 2021 which happened because Rose Lily Akello the former woman representative of Kaabong District opted to represent the newly created Karenga District that was carved out of Kaabong District. She was nominated over Fadouta Ahmed and Agnes Napio who were also under the NRM ticket. Nakwang was competing with Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)'s candidate Judith Adyaka Nalibe who abandoned the race over allegations of limited support from her party. The need to improve Education and health services in Kaabong District has been listed as the key targets of the newly elected member of parliament Christine Tubo Nakwang.
Rose Lilly Akello is a Ugandan politician and social worker representing Karenga District as the district woman member of parliament in the eleventh parliament of Uganda. In the ninth and tenth parliament, she served as the district woman member of parliament representing Kaabong District. Rose opted to represent Karenga District instead of Kaabong district because Karenga was carved out of Kaabong on 1 July 2019. She became the Kaabong District Woman MP after winning a by-election in 2017 against Ms Christine Tubo Nakwang. She is affiliated to the ruling political party, NRM.
Timu Forest also known as Timu Central Forest Reserve, is a forested area located in Kaabong District, Northern Region, Uganda. The forest consists of Tropical savanna and has an elevation of 1,786 metres. It is located in the remote area of Kotide. Timu Forest is among the other sites proposed for nomination by UNESCO. The forest is known because Aruu Falls originated from it in Kaabong. The forest reserve borders Kidepo Valley National Park.
The Nyangia community are a tribe in North-eastern Uganda. They live on the slopes of Nyangea Mountains, west of Kidepo Valley National Park, along the Ugandan border with South Sudan. The Nyangia are also called Nyang'i, Nyangea or Nyangiya and historically they are part of the Nilotic ethnic group largely found in Karenga Districtt in Karamoja.
Karenga District comprises two Constituencies: Dodoth West and Napore West. It is the home District to the wildest of the African Game Parks, the Kidepo Conservation Area (Kidepo Valley National Park).
