The Kavi Guru Express [2] series of trains were introduced by Indian Railways in 2011 for the 1st time together with the Rajya Rani Express. They were introduced by the then Railway Minister of India Ms. Mamata Banerjee in honour of Rabindranath Tagore. There were 4 trains proposed in the budget to operate as part of the series [3]

However out of the four, only the 12949/12950 Porbandar–Santragachi Kavi Guru Express is classed as a Superfast Express.

Duronto Express is a category of long-distance non-stop source to destination trains run by the Indian Railways. Initially these trains did not have any ticketing stops between the origin and the destination, but since January 2016 it is possible to book tickets from those technical stops. "Duronto" means "Speedster" in Bengali. These trains' coaches have characteristic yellow-green livery which contains a bi-meaning signature which are a field full of flower and a river flowing over it, 2nd meaning is a boy is running on the fields which signifies the meaning of Duronto. Duronto Express services connect the several metros and major state capitals of India. As of now, there are currently 24 pairs that are working.

The 12949 / 12950 Porbandar–Santragachi Junction Kavi Guru Express is a Superfast Express train of the Kavi Guru series belonging to Indian Railways – Western Railway zone that runs between Porbandar and Santragachi Junction in India.

On Indian Railways, The Double Decker Express is a series of express trains composed of bi-level seating arrangements for railway passengers, operated by the Indian Railways. These trains were started for shorter routes in order to serve more people than a traditional chair car carriage. This type of train permitted the passengers to catch the train at the last minute of the journey with a confirmed reservation. These days, the stainless steel LHB Coaches built at Kapurthala Coach Factory are utilized in AC Double Decker Trains. The Howrah–Dhanbad AC Double Decker Express was the first of its type to be introduced.
