Kuluin is a suburb of Maroochydore in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. [2] In the 2021 census, Kuluin had a population of 2,700 people. [1]
The locality takes its name from an Aboriginal word in the Kabi language meaning black swan. [2]
Kuluin State School opened in 1987. [3]
Kuluin was originally part of the nearby towns of Maroochydore and Buderim. It became a separate suburb in 1991. [2]
In the 2016 census, Kuluin had a population of 2,363 people. [4]

Kuluin State School is a government primary (Prep–6) school for boys and girls at Tallow Wood Drive ( 26°39′35″S153°03′28″E / 26.6598°S 153.0579°E ). [5] [6] In 2017, the school had an enrolment of 622 students with 47 teachers (41 full-time equivalent) and 21 non-teaching staff (16 full-time equivalent). [7] In 2018, the school had an enrolment of 596 students with 46 teachers (38 full-time equivalent) and 20 non-teaching staff (15 full-time equivalent).
