Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Limited, operated as Cathay Dragon (previously as Dragonair), was an international airline headquartered in Hong Kong SAR, China, with its corporate headquarters, Dragonair House, and main hub at Hong Kong International Airport. [1] [2]
Cathay Dragon was a wholly owned subsidiary and the regional wing of Cathay Pacific, [3] concentrating on destinations in the People's Republic of China and within Asia, while its parent operated a worldwide network to destinations in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America and Africa. [4]
Initially, Dragonair operated its passenger services only as regular charter flights; these were passenger flights that were operated by the airline on a programme basis similar to scheduled flights, but were not part of the air services agreement between their respective countries. [5] [6] The airline was granted scheduled services rights in 1990. [7]

Doha International Airport is an airport in Doha, Qatar. It was Qatar's commercial international airport until Hamad International Airport opened on 27 May 2014. Cathay Pacific Flight 780 was a flight from Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, Indonesia, to Hong Kong International Airport on 13 April 2010. On board were 309 passengers and a crew of 13. As Flight 780 neared Hong Kong, the crew were unable to change the thrust output of the engines. The aircraft, an Airbus A330-300, landed at almost twice the speed of a normal landing, suffering minor damage. The 57 passengers who sustained injuries were hurt in the ensuing slide evacuation; one of them received serious injuries.

Eddie Lau Pui-Kei is a fashion designer in Hong Kong. Lau has worked in the fashion industry since 1962 until his retirement in 1999, but continues working in fashion. His career peaked in the 1980s, when he designed haute couture and stage costumes for celebrities including Anita Mui, Leslie Cheung, Eunice Lam, Bak Sheut-sin, Liza Wang, and Michelle Yeoh. Lau was also employed to design uniforms for international brands – Cathay Pacific, Cathay Dragon (2013) and gained recognition for this work.
