The San Diego MTS bus system is a public transport bus service in San Diego County, California. It is operated by the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and consists of 97 routes across San Diego and the southern half of the county. [1] [4] The system includes 85 "MTS Bus" fixed-route services, 9 "Rapid" bus rapid transit routes, and the "MTS Access" paratransit service.

Operations are divided between private contractors and the San Diego Transit Corporation (SDTC), a subsidiary of MTS. SDTC operates 27 routes from the Imperial Avenue Division in downtown San Diego. Transdev operates 74 routes from the South Bay Division in Chula Vista and the East County Division in El Cajon, and also manages the "MTS Access" paratransit service using minibuses based at the Copley Park Division in Kearny Mesa.

All buses and facilities, including those used by contractors, are owned by MTS. The network serves San Diego as well as the surrounding East County and South Bay regions, [5] while the North County area is covered by the North County Transit District (NCTD)'s BREEZE bus system. [6]
