The 1979 European Parliament election in Luxembourg was the election of the delegation from Luxembourg to the European Parliament on 10 June 1979. [1] It was held on the same day as the legislative elections, which elected members to Luxembourg's Chamber of Deputies. [2]

Executive power is under the constitution of 1868, as amended, exercised by the government, by the grand duke and the Council of Government (cabinet), which consists of a prime minister and several other ministers.
