The 2015 Leicester City Council election took place on 7 May 2015 to elect members of Leicester City Council in England. [1] This was on the same day as other local elections, the 2015 general election and the election for the directly elected Mayor of Leicester.
The 54 councillors are elected from 27 wards, each electing either 2 or 3 councillors. The results of the election were that 52 Labour councillors were elected, with 1 Conservative and 1 Liberal Democrat. This is unchanged from the 2011 local election. [2]

Sir Peter Alfred Soulsby is a British Labour Party politician serving as Mayor of Leicester since 2011. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Leicester South from 2005 until he resigned his seat in April 2011, in order to contest the new post of mayor. He served as Leader of Leicester City Council from 1981 to 1994 and from 1996 to 1999.
Parmjit Singh Gill is a British Liberal Democrat politician. As Member of Parliament for Leicester South from July 2004 to May 2005, he was the first ethnic-minority Liberal Democrat MP.

The 2012 Moray Council election was held on 3 May 2012, the same day as the other 31 local authorities in Scotland. The election used the eight wards created under the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004, with 26 councillors being elected. Each ward elected either 3 or 4 members, using the STV electoral system.

One councillor was elected in each ward for a four-year term so the councillors elected in 2015 last stood for election in 2011.
