The 2015 South Gloucestershire Council election took place on 7 May 2015 to elect members of South Gloucestershire Council in England as part of nationwide local elections. [1]
For the first time since the creation of South Gloucestershire, the Conservatives took an overall majority with 40 of the 70 seats. [2] This was the second one-party majority in the history of South Gloucestershire, after the Lib Dems' 1999-2003 control.

Gloucestershire is a ceremonial county in South West England. It is bordered by Herefordshire to the north-west, Worcestershire to the north, Warwickshire to the north-east, Oxfordshire to the east, Wiltshire to the south, Bristol and Somerset to the south-west, and the Welsh county of Monmouthshire to the west. He has been the Minister of State for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education since 26 March 2024, and served as Minister of State for Regional Growth and Local Government from 2020 to 2021 and as Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party from February to July 2022 and from 2023 to 2024.
