Longhua District is a district in Shenzhen,Guangdong,People's Republic of China. It was created as a new district on 30 December 2011, [2] and became a formal district on 11 October 2016. [3]
Longhua was established as a new district on 30 December 2011 by the Shenzhen municipal government,being separated from Bao'an District. It was one of the four "new districts" established within Shenzhen (Longhua New District,Guangming New District,Pingshan New District and Dapeng New District),due to the rapid expansion of city urban area after the 2000s. [4] It was still part of Bao'an District in administrative management. On 11 October 2016,Longhua was officially separated from Bao'an District and became a formal district on its own. [3]

By the end of 2012,Longhua District covered an area of 175.58 square kilometres. The new district is situated in the north part of Shenzhen city,and lying on the middle vertical main axis of the city,being just north of the Futian CBD,Shenzhen. It borders Dongguan City to the north.
Longhua District is one of the main production bases in Shenzhen. It consists of manufacturing industry,trading industries and information technology. Altogether forms an outward economic structure which is typical in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
Longhua is considered as a transportation hub within the city. It houses the Shenzhen North Railway Station,a high-speed railway station. Both the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link,which connects Beijing and Hong Kong (Kowloon),and the Xiamen–Shenzhen railway,runs through the station.
Longhua is currently served by three metro lines and two light rail lines operated by Shenzhen Metro. These lines and their stations and connections are:
A large part of Longhua District has also been heavily developed into a high end residential area,with recent property developments established on a mostly undeveloped land surrounding the Shenzhen North Railway Station. Parts of the old industrial areas in the district are also planned to be demolished and restructured into more residential area to cope with the rapid expansion of population in the district. [6]

Shenzhen is a city and special economic zone on the east bank of the Pearl River estuary on the central coast of the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, bordering Hong Kong to the south, Dongguan to the north, and Huizhou to the northeast. Yantian District is one of the nine districts of the city of Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. It is adjacent to Shenzhen River and Hong Kong to the south, and is surrounded by Luohu, Longgang and Pingshan districts of Shenzhen.
Shenzhenbei Railway Station is one of the four large intercity railway stations of Shenzhen, located in Longhua District. It has 11 platforms and 20 lines. It is an interchange station between the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen High-Speed Railway, future Shenzhen–Zhanjiang high-speed railway and the Shenzhen Metro Lines 4, 5 and 6. Construction started in 2007 and was completed in June 2011. The Line 4 and Line 5 platforms opened on 22 June 2011, CRH platforms opened on 26 December 2011 and Line 6 platforms opened on 18 August 2020.
Dapeng is a subdistrict in the south east of Longgang District, in the prefecture-level city Shenzhen, in the Chinese province of Guangdong. In this area the main spoken dialects are Dapeng dialect and Bao'an Hakka.
Pingshan District is a district of Shenzhen, Guangdong.
Line 6, also known as the Guangming line of the Shenzhen Metro is in operation. Line 6 is part of the Phase III expansion of the Shenzhen Metro with a construction time frame scheduled for 2015–2019.

Shenzhen Tram is a light rail system consisting of two tram routes in Longhua District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Construction commenced on 27 December 2013 and public testing started on 30 June 2017, with the system fully opening on 28 October 2017. The tram system integrates the north side of Longhua into the city's rail network and is expected to significantly ease commuting difficulties.

Guanlan River is a tributary of the Shima River (石马河) located in both cities of Dongguan and Shenzhen. It is 88 kilometres (55 mi) long and drains an area of 1,249 square kilometres (482 sq mi). Guanlan River rises in Da'naoke Hill (大脑壳山), north of Shenzhen, and flows generally north through Qinghu Village (清湖村) and Guanlan Subdistrict, to Dongguan, then flows north to join Shima River in Yantian Stream (雁田水), where it feeds into Dong River, about 1 square kilometre (0.39 sq mi) near Qiaotou Town (桥头镇).
Guanlan Renmin Park is a public, urban park in Longhua District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Situated in Guanlan Subdistrict, the park is bordered by Meiguan Expressway (梅观高速公路) on the East, Bilan Road (碧澜路) on the West, Buxin Road (布新路) on the North, and Guanlan Park (观澜公园路) Road on the South. In 1993 the park was officially opened to the public. It covers an area of 163,000-square-metre (1,750,000 sq ft), of which green area of 39,000-square-metre (420,000 sq ft). The park is used for recreational activities, such as dancing, singing, walking, and gathering.
Bromsgrove School Mission Hills, also known as Bromsgrove-Mission Hills International School of Shenzhen (BMH), is a British international bilingual school in Longhua District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, affiliated with Bromsgrove School in the United Kingdom and the Chinese leisure and hospitality company Mission Hills Group. Peter Clague is the headmaster as of 2019.

Line 22 of the Shenzhen Metro is an express line under construction, which will connect the districts of Futian and Longhua for 38 kilometers and 23 stations. Construction began on 2 January 2024, with construction starting on Liguang Depot. The first phase of Line 22 has entered Phase V planning, and will run from Shangsha in Futian District to Liguang in Longhua District, with 21 stations and 34.2 kilometers of track. The line is proposed to use 6 car type A trains. It is proposed to extend into Dongguan in long term planning.
