Satelio is a pay-tv service for German-language television in Southern Africa (especially Namibia as well in South Africa (unter the Deukom label)), other African countries (Nigeria (since October 1, 2015) [1] ) and the Middle East. Satelio is provided by Deutscher Televisionsklub Betriebs GmbH based in Ismaning, Germany.

Distribution

Satelio broadcast its offer via the Amos-5 satellite (from 2 December 2013 [2] to early June 2014 via Intelsat 20). Due to the failure of Amos-5 on November 21, 2015, [3] the move to the Astra 4A satellite at 5° east was announced on November 23, 2015 [4] and completed on November 24, 2015.

In Namibia, the broadcast takes place via the general broadcasting license of Hitradio Namibia, [5] in Nigeria via ACTV. [1]

The five English-language sport channels ST Sports Premium HD, ST World Football HD, ST Sports Arena, ST Sports Life and ST Sports Focus are offered in cooperation with the South African pay-tv company StarSat since September 1, 2016 and are subject to a surcharge. Among other things, Satelio offers the transmission of live coverage of Bundesliga football matches with this sports package. [6]

The Olympic Tower in the Olympic Park, Munich has an overall height of 291 m (955 ft) and a weight of 52,500 tons. At a height of 190 m (620 ft) there is an observation platform as well as an exhibition commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Tower. Previously in that space was a small rock and roll museum housing various memorabilia. Since its opening in 1968, the tower has registered over 43 million visitors. Thomas Koschwitz is a German radio and television host, and a book author since 2002. Despite many television engagements, he has stayed active with radio. He is known as a pioneer of the German radio landscape and is a developer and protagonist of many innovative formats and shows. He has not always had a lucky hand with the selection of his productions, yet they never display a lack professionalism, quality, or reliability. Throughout the course of his career, Koschwitz has worked with many German and international stars and developed, owing to his journalistic skills, into a well-known talk show host, entertainer, and presenter.

The Axel-Springer-Preis is an annually awarded prize. The Award is given to young journalists in the categories print, TV, radio, and online journalism due to the decisions of the Axel-Springer-Akademie.

kabel eins classics is a German pay-tv channel owned by ProSiebenSat.1 Media. A sister channel of kabel eins it first went on air on 1 June 2006. It broadcasts 24 hours a day, mainly films and series from the 1940s to the late 1990s. On Saturdays, films from the 2000s are shown.

RTL International was a German-speaking pay-TV channel of RTL Group targeted the global community of German-speaking viewers and tourists with selected programmes from domestic TV channels RTL Television, VOX, RTL Nitro and n-tv. The channel broadcast in non-European countries from January 18, 2016, to May 31, 2017. RTL International replaced RTL Television's previous offer in Southern Africa and Israel and also broadcast for the first time in Australia, Georgia, Canada and the USA.

Deukom is a provider of digital television for the South African market via IPTV or via satellite, using the Astra 4A satellite at 5° east. The target group are Germans living in South Africa.
