The Acura ARX-05 is a sports prototype racing car built to Daytona Prototype International regulations. It was developed in partnership by Honda Performance Development and Oreca, and is based on the Oreca 07 chassis and powered by the Acura AR35TT twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine. [2] [3]
The car made its racing debut at the 2018 24 Hours of Daytona with Team Penske. In 2019, the car won the drivers', teams' and manufacturers' titles in the top DPi class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, becoming the first non-General Motors car to do so. Acura and Team Penske successfully defended their titles in 2020, winning all of the DPi class championships. [4]
It was announced in July 2020 that the partnership between Team Penske and Honda Performance Development would not be renewed for the 2021 season. [5] For the 2021 season, Wayne Taylor Racing and Meyer Shank Racing campaigned one of the ARX-05s previously run by Penske. [6] Both teams continued using the model for the 2022 season. The car won the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2021 and 2022.

The Oreca 07 is a Le Mans Prototype built by French manufacturer Oreca to meet the 2017 FIA and ACO LMP2 regulations. It made its official race debut in the opening round of the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and its FIA World Endurance Championship debut at the 2017 6 Hours of Silverstone. The car is the successor to the Oreca 05.
The 2018 IMSA SportsCar Championship was the 48th motor racing championship sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). It was the fifth season of the United SportsCar Championship and third to be held under the name as the IMSA SportsCar Championship. It began on January 27 with the 24 Hours of Daytona, and ended on October 13 with the Petit Le Mans.

The 2020 Petit Le Mans was the 23rd running of the Petit Le Mans, and was held on October 17, 2020. It was the 9th race in the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, and the 3rd race of the 2020 Michelin Endurance Cup, and was run at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia. The race was won overall by the #10 Konica Minolta Cadillac Cadillac DPi-V.R after the #7 Acura Team Penske and #31 Whelen Engineering Racing entries made contact and spun out in the closing minutes of the race.

The Acura ARX-06 is a sports prototype racing car designed by Honda Racing Corporation USA, formerly known as Honda Performance Development (HPD), and built by Oreca. It is designed to the Le Mans Daytona h regulations, and competes in the GTP class in the IMSA SportsCar Championship since 2023. The car has a bespoke 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine designated as the AR24e. The ARX-06 debuted alongside the BMW M Hybrid V8, Cadillac V-LMDh and Porsche 963 at the 2023 season opener of the IMSA SportsCar Championship at the Daytona International Speedway.
