Jakabaring Station is a station of the Palembang LRT Line 1, located in the city of Palembang.

The station is not far from Jakabaring Aquatic Center, Jakabaring Sport City and Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium. The station was one of six stations that opened at the Palembang LRT launch on 1 August 2018. [2]

Holding 23,000 spectators., the stadium is currently used mostly for football matches. The construction began in 2001 and finished in 2004 to host the 2004 Indonesia National Games. The stadium was initially named as Jakabaring stadium after the location of the stadium in southern outskirt of Palembang. However, later the stadium was renamed "Gelora Sriwijaya", to honor and celebrate the 7th—13th century Indonesian empire of Srivijaya. The Third Place Playoff of the 2007 AFC Asian Cup was held in this stadium. The football club Sriwijaya is based at the stadium.

The South Sumatra Light Rapid Transit, colloquially known as LRT Palembang or Palembang LRT, is an operational light rapid transit system in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia which connects Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport and Jakabaring Sport City. It is the first practical modern light rapid system to operate in Indonesia. It was also the first rail line as a rapid transit system in the country.

Palembang is the capital city of South Sumatra province of Indonesia. Currently, this city is the oldest existing city in Indonesia, dates back to 7th century.
