Lampegan Station (LP) is a class III railway station located in Cimenteng, Campaka, Cianjur Regency. The station, which is located at an altitude of +439 m, is included in the Operational Area II Bandung and is a railway station located in the westernmost part of Cianjur Regency.

Contents

The station is only about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from the Gunung Padang Megalithic Site, a national cultural heritage. The location is expected to boost the tourism sector in Cianjur Regency. [4] [5]

On 10 February 2014, the Siliwangi train from Cianjur Station to Sukabumi Station crashed at the mouth of the Lampegan Tunnel  [ id ]. Several train schedules had to be canceled. [7]

Gunung Padang is a megalithic site located in Karyamukti, Campaka, Cianjur Regency, West Java, Indonesia, 30 kilometres (19 mi) southwest of the regency seat or 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) from Lampegan station. Located at 885 metres (2,904 ft) above sea level, the site covers a hill, an extinct volcano, in a series of five terraces bordered by retaining walls of stone that are accessed by 370 successive andesite steps rising about 95 metres (312 ft). It is covered with massive hexagonal stone columns of volcanic origin. The Sundanese people consider the site sacred and believe it was the result of King Siliwangi's attempt to build a palace in one night.

Bogor Paledang Station (BOP) is a railway station located in the city of Bogor, West Java. The station is located in the altitude of +246 meter above sea level. It opened in 2013 to cut down human traffic in Bogor station which now serves commuter trains, KRL Commuterline. This station only serves Pangrango intercity train to Sukabumi. In October 2014, the station was expanded because the existing waiting room was insufficient for the passengers and the parking area was too small. As part of double tracking project and preparatory works for electrification towards Sukabumi, the station was upgraded from a simple halt into a full fledged station separate from Bogor station's signalling system. A siding track and a downstream track were added on the eastern part of the railyard. The project forced Pangrango services to temporarily stop operations. Pangrango trains only resumed operation until 10 April 2022, much later than other trains affected by COVID-19 pandemic.
