<i>Malayala Manorama</i> Kerala-based Indian newspaper

Malayala Manorama is a morning newspaper in Malayalam published from Kottayam, Kerala, India by the Malayala Manorama Company Limited. Currently headed by Mammen Mathew, it was first published as a weekly on 14 March 1888, and currently has a readership of over 8 million. It is also the second oldest Malayalam newspaper in Kerala in circulation, after Deepika, which is also published from Kottayam. Manorama also publishes an online edition.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma</span> Metropolitan Emeritus of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of India (1918–2021)

Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma XX was an Indian prelate who served as Metropolitan of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church from 1999-2007 and Valiya Metropolitan from 2007 until his death. He was the world's longest serving bishop, serving for −67 years, 11 months and 12 days. He was addressed and referred to as Chrysostom Thirumeni or Valiya Thirumeni after his retirement. He was also a known humorist. He was awarded India's third highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan, in 2018.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Juhanon Mar Thoma</span>

Juhanon Mar Thoma XVIII was the Metropolitan of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church from 1949–1976, who gave leadership to the church and at the same time actively participated in social and political arenas. He was respected by people from all walks of life, from all religions and from all age groups. He is remembered for providing the church with its famous motto "Lighted to Lighten". His humanistic and socially-engaged approach to the Christian faith was embodied in his personal credo: "The Church must be interested where human life is interested."

<span class="mw-page-title-main">K. C. Mammen Mappillai</span> Indian journalist

Kandathil Cherian Mammen Mappillai was the Founder of Malankara Orthodox church in 1912 at kottaym Kerala, who became editor of the Malayalam-language daily Malayala Manorama after the demise of his paternal uncle Kandathil Varghese Mappillai. Besides being a noted journalist, he was an Indian independence activist and served a member of the Sree Moolam Popular Assembly in Travancore. He also went into development of plantations, and was the inspiration behind the various enterprises of his sons.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Baselios Marthoma Mathews I</span>

Baselios Marthoma Mathews I was the primate of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, also known as Indian Orthodox Church. He was the 5th catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church and 18th Malankara Metropolitan.

Sarvodaya Vidyalaya is a school of the Major Archiepiscopal Eparchy of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Situated on the Bethany Hills at Nalanchira, Sarvodaya was founded on 3 January 1973 by Benedict Mar Gregorios, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum.

St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry is a government-aided college in Kozhencherry, Kerala state, South India. Established in 1953, it is administered by the Mar Thoma Syrian Church. Juhanon Mar Thoma Metropolitan and K. T. Thomas, Kurumthottickal, the veteran Minister of the Parish of Kozhencherry were involved in founding the college. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan, the present head of the Mar Thoma Church, is the manager of the college.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Government Law College, Ernakulam</span> Law College in Kochi, Kerala, India

The Government Law College, Ernakulam, also known as His Highness the Maharajas Government Law College, Ernakulam is an prestigious institution for undergraduate and post-graduate legal education in Kochi, Kerala, India. Founded in 1874, it is the first law college in the state of Kerala and one of the oldest law colleges in India.

Bishop Moore College is an aided college in Mavelikkara, Alappuzha, Kerala, India, affiliated with the University of Kerala. The college is ranked 62nd among colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2024. It was ranked 58 in NIRF 2022, 89 in NIRF 2021, 76 in NIRF 2020, in the rank band 101–150 in NIRF 2019, and ranked 92 in NIRF 2018. The college was accredited by NAAC with an "A" Grade in 2017. The college is managed by the Madhya Kerala Diocese of the Church of South India, and offers 11 undergraduate programs, five postgraduate programs, and two research programs. It is located at Kallumala, Mavelikara. The current principal of the college is Dr. Ranjith Mathew Abraham.

<i>Vellimoonga</i> 2014 Indian film

Vellimoonga is a 2014 Indian Malayalam-language political satire film directed by Jibu Jacob and written by Joji Thomas. It stars Biju Menon in the lead role with Aju Varghese, Nikki Galrani, Tini Tom, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Sasi Kalinga, Saju Navodaya, Kalabhavan Shajon, Veena Nair, and Siddique in supporting roles. Asif Ali appears in a cameo role. The music was composed by Bijibal.

Kandathil Mammen Cherian was an Indian media person and former chief-editor of Malayala Manorama, the Malayalam daily, ranked the first in Malayalam, the fourth in India. and the eleventh in the World, in terms of circulation. He is a recipient of Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, the third and fourth-highest Indian civilian awards.

<i>Manjil Virinja Poovu</i> Indian Malayalam-language television drama

Manjil Virinja Poovu is an Indian Malayalam-language television drama. It aired from 4 March 2019 to 21 July 2024 on Mazhavil Manorama and streams on ManoramaMax. The show is produced by Prabha Unnithan under the banner of Sree Movies. It stars Malavika Wales in the main lead role along with Rekha Ratheesh, Yuva Krishna and Akhil Anand. It is one of the top-rated TV series in Mazhavil Manorama since its inception. It is currently the longest ran soap opera in Malayalam.

<i>Ayyappanum Koshiyum</i> 2020 Indian film directed by Sachy

Ayyappanum Koshiyum is a 2020 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film written and directed by Sachy. Produced by Ranjith and P. M. Sasidharan, the film stars Biju Menon and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

<i>Lion</i> (2006 film) 2006 Malayalam film directed by Joshiy

Lion is a 2006 Indian Malayalam-language political thriller film written by Udaykrishna-Sibi K. Thomas and directed by Joshiy. The film stars Dileep, Kalasala Babu, Kavya Madhavan and Vijayaraghavan alongside a supporting cast that include Jagathy Sreekumar, Innocent, Sai Kumar, Shammi Thilakan, Riyaz Khan and Karthika. The film was produced by Noushad and distributed by Shan Entertainment. The film received positive reviews and was a blockbuster at the box office. It was remade in Tamil as Nam Naadu and in Telugu as Evadaithe Nakenti.

<i>Kaduva</i> 2022 Indian film directed by Shaji Kailas

Kaduva (transl. Tiger) is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language action film directed by Shaji Kailas, written by Jinu V. Abraham and produced by Prithviraj Productions & Magic Frames. It stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, alongside Vivek Oberoi, Samyuktha Menon, Arjun Ashokan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Baiju Santhosh and Kalabhavan Shajohn. Set in 1990s, Kaduva revolves around an ego war between Kaduvakunnel Kuriyachan, a planter, and I.G. Joseph Chandy.
