Midville is a city in Burke County, Georgia, United States. The population was 269 at the 2010 census, [5] and 385 in 2020. It is part of the Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area.

History

The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Midville as a town in 1877. [6] The community was so named on account of its central location between Macon and Savannah. [7]

Geography

Midville is located in the southwest corner of Burke County at 32°49′17″N82°14′12″W / 32.82139°N 82.23667°W / 32.82139; -82.23667 (32.821321, -82.236586). [8] The southern border of the city is the Ogeechee River, which is also the county line.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km2), of which 0.008 square miles (0.02 km2), or 0.34%, is water. [5]
