This article lists the results and fixtures for the North Korea women's national football team. [1] [2] [3] The first international match was held by the North Korean national team on December 21, 1989 against the Chinese Team in the framework of the 1989 AFC Women's Championship, the match was held in Hong Kong ended in a defeat of the North Koreans with a score of 1 goal to 4. Later, within the framework of the same tournament, the national team played two more matches, losing 1 to 3 to the Taiwanese team and defeating the Thai national team with a score of 4 goals to nil, thus taking third place in the group. North Korea has been regularly ranked in the top ten teams worldwide in the FIFA World Rankings.
The team was inactive from March 2019 until 2023 partially due to the COVID-19 pandemic [4] and became unranked due to a lack of FIFA-recognized play. [5] The team resumed play in 2023 and the team's ranking has since been restored. [6] As of the December 2023 FIFA rankings, the team is ranked 9th in the world. [7]
