Yantai, formerly known as Chefoo, is a coastal prefecture-level city on the Shandong Peninsula in northeastern Shandong province of People's Republic of China. Lying on the southern coast of the Bohai Strait, Yantai borders Qingdao on the southwest and Weihai on the east, with sea access to both the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea. It is the largest fishing seaport in Shandong. Its population was 6,968,202 during the 2010 census, of whom 2,227,733 lived in the built-up area made up of the 4 urban districts of Zhifu, Muping, Fushan and Laishan.
Penglai, formerly known as Dengzhou or Tengchow, is a district in the prefecture-level city of Yantai, Shandong Province, in the People's Republic of China. It lies on the northwest corner of the Shandong Peninsula on the southern coast of the Gulf of Bohai. Penglai is famous for its mirages out at sea, which are frequent during May and June. Formerly a county-level city under Yantai's administration, Penglai became a district in 2020.

It is near the Yellow Sea coast, and administratively under Yantai Prefecture. It covers 228 km2 and has a population of 400,000. Before its creation, most of the area were fishing villages. Now it is an industrial and famous tourist site in Shandong

The Port of Taizhou is a natural seaport on the coast of the prefectural-level city of Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China. The Port is centered at the mouth of the Jiaojiang River, with port areas opening to the Taizhou Bay, Yueqing Bay and Sanmen Bay of the East China Sea. It is considered as the southernmost of the ports of the Yangtze Delta economic area. In 2013 it reached a throughput of 56.28 million metric tons, an increase of 5.0% over 2012, and a container throughput of 166,571 TEUs, an increase of 10.4%.

Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway is a high-speed railway located in China's, Shandong Province. It travels along the Shandong Peninsula connecting to Qingdao and Rongcheng. Line length is 298.842 km (186 mi). The design speed is based on 250 km/h (155 mph) service. However, it has been reserved for the line to be upgraded, if warranted, to 300 km/h (186 mph). Construction consisted of a three-month preparation period, a building period of 27 months and with a joint testing and commissioning period of six months. On December 28, 2014, the Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway opened from Jimo to Rongcheng. The whole line opened on November 16, 2016.
Yantai South railway station is a railway station located in Laishan District, Yantai, Shandong, China. Unlike the older Yantai railway station, this is a through-station. It opened with the Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway on 28 December 2014. It will be served by Tianjin–Weifang–Yantai high-speed railway in future.
