The Director of the British Museum is the head of the British Museum in London, a post currently held by Sir Mark Jones on an interim basis. He is responsible for that institution's general administration and reports its accounts to the British Government. The actual governance of the British Museum, however, is delegated to its board of trustees. [1]
At the museum's inception its most senior member of staff was called "principal librarian". The job title became "director and principal librarian" in 1898, and "director" in 1973, on the separation of the British Library from the museum.

John Andrew Todd FMedSci FRS is Professor of Precision Medicine at the University of Oxford, director of the Wellcome Center for Human Genetics and the JDRF/Wellcome Trust Diabetes and Inflammation Laboratory, in addition to Jeffrey Cheah Fellow in Medicine at Brasenose College. He works in collaboration with David Clayton and Linda Wicker to examine the molecular basis of type 1 diabetes.
Sally Ann Shuttleworth is a British academic specialising in Victorian literature. She is Professor of English Literature at the University of Oxford and a Professorial Fellow of St Anne's College, Oxford. From 2006 to 2011, she was Head of the Humanities Division, University of Oxford. From 2014 to 2019 she was a principal investigator on the Diseases of Modern Life project, a multidisciplinary research initiative exploring nineteenth century scientific and cultural ideas related to stress and information overload.

The Corpus Christi Professorship of the Latin Language and Literature, also known simply as the Corpus Christi Professorship of Latin and previously as the Corpus Professorship of Latin, is a chair in Latin literature at Corpus Christi College, University of Oxford. The chair was created after the Oxford University Act of 1854.
Tobias Reinhardt is a German classical scholar, specialising in Latin literature and ancient philosophy. Since 2008, he has been the Corpus Christi Professor of Latin at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford.
Elizabeth McGrath, is a British art historian, curator, and academic. Spending all of her career at the Warburg Institute of the University of London, she was curator of the photographic collection from 1991 to 2010 and Professor of the History of Art from 2000 to 2010. She additionally held the Slade Professorship of Fine Art at the University of Oxford from 1989 to 1990. Since her retirement in 2010, she has been Emeritus Professor and an honorary fellow of the Warburg Institute.

Genevra Mercy Richardson, is a British legal scholar, specialising in public and administrative law. From 2005 to 2017, she was Professor of Law at King's College, London. She has served as Vice President of the British Academy since 2016. She previously taught and researched at the University of Oxford, the University of East Anglia, and Queen Mary, University of London, where she was Dean of its Faculty of Law.
Reginald James Albert Askew was a British Anglican priest and academic. He was Principal of Salisbury and Wells Theological College from 1973 to 1987, and Dean of King's College London from 1988 to 1993.
Andrew Michael Burnett, is a British numismatist and museum curator, who specialises in Roman coins. He was Deputy Director of the British Museum from 2003 to 2013, and Keeper of its Department of Coins and Medals from 1992 to 2003. He was president of the Royal Numismatic Society from 2013 to 2018.
The Charles and Julia Henry Fellowships were initiated in 1930. The fellowship funds four full-time post-graduate students every year at Harvard University, Yale University, the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. Two students from any British university are funded to study in the US, and two American students from Harvard and Yale are funded to study at Cambridge and Oxford.
