As of 2019, it ranks as the 2nd largest hospital in New Jersey and No. 59 in the US. HUMC is the largest hospital in the Hackensack Meridian Health Health System. It is affiliated with the New Jersey Medical School of Rutgers University and Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. The medical center is Bergen County's first hospital, founded in 1888 with 12 beds. The hospital is an ACS verified level 1 trauma center, one of five in the state. In 2021 it was given a grade A by the Leapfrog patient safety organization.

Hahnemann University Hospital was a tertiary care center in Center City Philadelphia. It was the teaching hospital of Drexel University College of Medicine. Established in 1885, it was for most of its history the main teaching hospital associated with its namesake medical school, Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital, founded in 1848 and named for Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy. Hahnemann University Hospital was fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

The Erlanger Health System, incorporated as the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Hospital Authority, a non-profit, public benefit corporation registered in the State of Tennessee, is a system of hospitals, physicians, and medical services based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Erlanger's main location, Erlanger Baroness Hospital, is a tertiary referral hospital and Level I Trauma Center serving a 50,000 sq mi (130,000 km2) region of East Tennessee, North Georgia, North Alabama, and western North Carolina. The system provides critical care services to patients within a 150 mi (240 km) radius through six Life Force air ambulance helicopters, which are equipped to perform in-flight surgical procedures and transfusions.

ChristianaCare is a network of private, non-profit hospitals providing health care services to all of the U.S. state of Delaware and portions of seven counties bordering the state in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. The system includes two hospitals in Delaware, Wilmington Hospital and Christiana Hospital, and one in Maryland, ChristianaCare Union Hospital in Elkton. ChristianaCare operates the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute, the Center for Heart & Vascular Health, The Center for Women & Children's Health, and ChristianaCare HomeHealth, as well as the Eugene du Pont Preventive Medicine & Rehabilitation Center, and a wide range of outpatient and satellite services. ChristianaCare is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware.

Medical centers in the United States are conglomerations of health care facilities including hospitals and research facilities that also either include or are closely affiliated with a medical school. Although the term medical center is sometimes loosely used to refer to any concentration of health care providers including local clinics and individual hospital buildings, the term academic medical center more specifically refers to larger facilities or groups of facilities that include a full spectrum of health services, medical education, and medical research.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Children's of Alabama</span> Hospital in Alabama, United States

Children's of Alabama is a pediatric acute care children's hospital located in Birmingham, Alabama. The main hospital has 332 beds and 48 bassinets. The hospital is affiliated with the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to pediatric patients aged 0–21 throughout Alabama and surrounding states. Children's of Alabama features the only level 1 pediatric trauma center in the state. The hospital was founded in 1911. The system's main hospital is located on the city's Southside, with additional outpatient facilities and primary care centers throughout central Alabama. It is the third largest children's hospital in the United States in terms of square footage.
