Monte Carlo was an Italian restaurant in Portland, Oregon, United States. [1] It was established in 1927, [2] and was one of the city's first Italian restaurants. [3] The restaurant operated on southeast Portland's Belmont Street for approximately 70 years, before owner John DiGregorio relocated the business to Gresham. The restaurant closed soon after, and the building that had housed the business on Belmont Street was destroyed in a fire in 2002. [4] [5] [6] The site of the Belmont restaurant later became the Goat Blocks. [2] [7] Monte Carlo had karaoke. The menu included minestrone [8] and steak. [9]
The Blue Monk was a bar, music venue, and restaurant in southeast Portland, Oregon, in the United States. Upstairs featured a restaurant with an open kitchen serving mostly Italian cuisine, while downstairs hosted music performances in a variety of genres, but mostly jazz.
