Okehampton is a town and civil parish in West Devon in the English county of Devon. It is situated at the northern edge of Dartmoor, and had a population of 5,922 at the 2011 census. Two electoral wards are based in the town. Their joint population at the same census was 7,500.

The parish is surrounded, clockwise from the north, by the parishes of Bovey Tracey, Teigngrace, Newton Abbot, Ogwell, Bickington, Ashburton, Widecombe-in-the-Moor and Manaton. In 2001 the population of the parish was 2,444, greatly increased from the 886 residents recorded in 1901. The parish is represented in parliament by Mel Stride, as part of the Central Devon constituency.
Belstone is a small village and civil parish in the West Devon District of Devon, England. Lying on the northern side of Dartmoor, the western boundary of the parish is mostly formed by the East Okement River and the eastern by the River Taw; its highest point is Belstone Tor in the south, at 1,508 feet. The parish is surrounded, clockwise from the north, by the parishes of Sticklepath, South Tawton, Dartmoor Forest and Okehampton Hamlets. In 2001 its population was 257, relatively unchanged from the 1901 figure of 236.
Broadwoodwidger is a village and civil parish in the Torridge district of Devon, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 548. The village is just to the north of the A30 road, and is about eight miles east of Launceston in Cornwall, and 13 miles west of Okehampton. Roadford Reservoir, which is also called Roadford Lake, is to the north-east of the village, and the River Wolf passes at the bottom of the hillside on which the village stands.

The village lies about 2.5 miles east of the town of Great Torrington, and the parish, which had a population of 566 in 2001 compared with 623 in 1901, is surrounded clockwise from the north by the parishes of Huntshaw, Yarnscombe, High Bickington, Roborough, Beaford, Little Torrington and Great Torrington. Most of the Victorian terraced cottages in the village, on the east side of the church, were built by the Rolle Estate.

The manor of Bratton Clovelly was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086. The parish church dedicated to St Mary is 15th-century, with many Norman features. The former village stocks are kept in the belfry. The parish is thought to have been the birthplace of influential 13th-century jurist Henry de Bracton; however, this claim is also made for at least two other places.

Clawton is a village and civil parish in the far west of Devon, England. It forms part of the local government district of Torridge. The village lies about three miles south of the town of Holsworthy on the A388 road. The parish is surrounded clockwise from the north-west by the parishes of Pyworthy, Holsworthy Hamlets, Ashwater, and Tetcott. Its western border follows the River Tamar which forms the county boundary with Cornwall. In 2001 its population was 326, slightly down from 389 in 1901.

Hayne in the parish of Stowford in Devon, is an historic manor, about 11 miles (18 km) south-west of Okehampton. The surviving Manor House, a grade II* listed building known as Hayne House was rebuilt in about 1810 by Isaac Donnithorne, who later adopted the surname Harris having married the heiress of Harris of Hayne.
